We have a Hayward Super Pump 2600 Series for our pool (installed in 1998). Need a new run capacitor for it. Not sure which one to get since the label on the one we have is old and hard to read. We know it is 370V. It is 1 3/4" diameter / 2 7/8" length. Can you recommend which capacitor we would need?

I purchased a Model B849 Pump Motor from you last May, probably 5/13/14. I installed it on 5/16/14. It now needs a capacitor. Is the covered by a warranty? Whether it is or not I need one asap. The only one I can get locally has the correct specifications but is physically too big to fit in the capacitor cover on the motor.

Skip, 5vr0303 is the run capacitor we show for a B849 pump. Not sure why it doesn't fit. And unfortunately we do not sell 370v 30mfd run capacitors smaller than 3 3/8" in length.

Hello, I have an A.O. Smith centurion pump motor model B855. It fails to start unless I manually spin the shaft and then it runs fine. Do I need to replace the capacitor mounted on the top of the motor to fix this start up problem?

I have Cat B855 motor how do I know which capacitor , run or start, needs to be replaced ? I have to manually assist my motor by turning the shaft at the rear, but once it starts it seems to run fine. Common sense would tell me that it would be a start capacitor but from the research that I have been doing it sounds like I need a run capacitor ? any advise would be appreciated . Thanks

I have an Astral/Hurlcon CX280 pool pump which requires a new capacitor. The original capacitor is a 30uF cylindrical aluminium can mounted horizontally on top of the motor. Can you guys please confirm that this is a 'Run' capacitor and that your '5vr0303' Capacitor is the correct replacement unit for my pump ?

Hi Gary, A capacitor with a single MFD number is a run capacitor, start capacitors usually have an MFD range. The only thing that you will need to confirm is the voltage of the capacitor that you have, it has a voltage that is 370 volts or less this capacitor will work.

My pool pump hums when it starts and then it shuts down in seconds. does it look like it can be the run capacitor? After a few minutes I can start it again but it does the same thing.

Hello- It is possible that the capacitor could be the issue. Please note that if the motor was making any loud or grinding sounds prior to it failing, it is more likely the bearings have seized up.

old capacitor is can type located within the back housing cover of motor...looks like the pictures of the run capacitor. It is NOT located in the "doghouse" on top of motor. I assume it is a run capacitor from the pictures shown on your selection guide? It is "metal can", not plastic. Can is rusted so I don't know any of the statistics. Yes, this 628318-308, 30 MFD is the correct replacement run capacitor for your ST1202 2-HP Full Rate. This motor also uses the 36-43 MFD (BC36M-250-S), start capacitor.

for a Jandy 1 HP Motor, model FHPM1.0 self priming; I believe its a Run capacitor because it sits in the 'dog house' on top of the motor. This capacitor will work in that pump according to the info from the old capacitor. VAC is not important in his case.

You can go with a higher UF rated capacitor but not a lower rated capacitor. So if your old capacitor was 30 UF and the new one is 40 UF you should be fine.

If you have no other choice but to use that 35 MFD capacitor, you can use it. But I warn against doing so because the higher MFD can create overheated winding issues, which leads to premature motor failure.

My old two speed spa pump motor is now one speed (high speed) only. Attached is a photo of one of the two capacitors. I am not sure if this is a start or run capacitor. The motor is a 230V Sta-Rite 6 BHP model. Can you please help me select the right replacement capacitor for this one? (I was looking for a two speed relay on my setup, but apparently it is internal to the motor.)

I have a Jandy FloPro FHPM1.0 CND with a capacitor in the hump (supposed to be a start capacitor) that is consistent with a run capacitor (30UF370 VAC 50/60HZ) but I couldn't locate a start capacitor nor could I find one on the blown up schematics. My problem is that the motor makes a hum and will not start unless I manually spin the impeller shaft then it starts immediately with no problems or noises. To me it sounds like the start capacitor is faulty but I can't locate one.

Hello Nick. The U. S. Seal Manufacturing RUN Capacitor, (5VR0303) (2444) is the correct replacement for the capacitor described in your communication: 370VAC 30uf. Generally, there is only one capacitor installed on residential pool pump motors unless the total horsepower exceeds 3.0 HP.
