the tablets in my tower are very slow to dissolve and the controller is set to maximum. Could the regulator be defective? or is there a possible problem in the bottom of the tower?

Mike, If this is the chlorinator that you have, there's a screen on the bottom that elevates the tablets so that it's not blocking the check valve. If that screen is missing that will prevent water flow causing your problem.

My feeder keeps getting low on water. What can be causing this? I have all pentair equipment and this is the only thing I have problems with. Thanks John

Hi John, I would recommend that you cleaning your filter, check the tubing along with the Control Valve.

I have a pentair 320 online chlorinator but the tablets don't seem to be dissolving I bought the elbow ball part but the tablets still seem to be the same for 2 days Do I need a new chlorinator ?

Hi Cydney, before closing the lid of your chlorinator make sure it is filled with water, you can do this by turning your pump on while the chlorinator lid is off. Once the chamber gets filled about half way then start tightening down the lid of the chlorinator. Let us know if this fixes your issue.

i have a 320 inline chlorinator. it is old and i think all clogged up, so i would just like to replace the entire unit. Can i replace everything except the bottom pvc which is glued into my piping already? if so, how do i do that?

Hi Rob, You will first have to remove the Lock Screw and the Elbow from the Tee. Once that is completed unscrew the body the tee, then screw on the new body. Follow the same steps with the new chlorinator.

Does this have the same specs and come with the same parts as Rainbow 320 Inline Chlorinator - R171096? In other words is the only difference is the clear tablet cylinder. Thanks!

Good afternoon Stan, This chlorinator is pretty much the same as the 320 has a list of same parts.  So, to answer your question. Yes , same but clear.

What is the difference between the R171218 and the R171096. The only difference I can see is the R171218 has an amber chlorine tablet chamber and the R171096 is a PVC chamber.

Hi, Bob. Yes, the difference is the body. Model # R171218 has a see through body and R171096 has a  white pvc body.

I have a PVC style Rainbow 320 installed. I want to install an extender so I can put more tablets in and spend less time on constant maintenance. I would also like to be able to see how many tablets are left to determine if maintenance is needed. I would like to buy just an amber body from a 320C and install my PVC body on top of it. I cannot find that part for sale anywhere. The PVC body replacement is R172321 but I cannot find the amber body listed for sale. Please assist.

The Rainbow 320C Inline Chlorinator - R171218 (Amber/Clear) does not offer a replacement housing or amber/clear extender. The whole goods would need to be ordered with Extension, Chlorinator 20in (r172283) that triples or Extension, Chlorinator 10" - R172087 that doubles s (approximately) the capacity and time between refills. Please see page 4 http://images.inyopools.com/cloud/documents/rainbow-320-om.pdf for details.

Can I buy just the amber housing? I cannot see it listed as an individually sold part anywhere.

Hi Daniel, unfortunately, this housing is not sold separately. The entire unit would need to be replaced.

I have a Pentair 320 In Line Chlorinator that is leaking at the bottom somewhere around the Tee joint. Is there a gasket down there or is it just time to replace my chlorinator? My chlorinator is at least 10 years old and was in my tubing before I purchased the house with this pool.

Hi Patrick, it depends upon where it is leaking, but changing the o-rings is a good idea on a 10-year-old chlorinator.  The parts for your Pentair 320 In-Line Chlorinator are located here.  Be sure to put lubricant on any new o-rings to help them seal and last 10 more years.
