I need to replace the lateral assembly for my Hayward Sand filter. The part number on the assembly is S-240-E and the total length is 27.5....laterals S-240-D. I do not know what model of filter I have since there is no part number or label on the filter....came with house. I am unable to determine what replacement part number to order. I can not find a lateral assembly that is 27.5...

Hi, The pipe for the Lateral Assembly w/ Pipe (SX244DA) is 20-5/8" long by 1-1/2" thin wall PVC.

I had asked an earlier question regarding replacing the center pipe and laterals on a S245T Hayward filter and I forgot to mention that the mechanism to backwash and filter that sits on the filter is new it is a Hayward Variflo 7 position XL valve just in case that should make a difference in the part number for the center pipe and laterals thank you again!

The original Valve, Top Mount Flanged 1 1/2 Wg (SP0714T) that is was installed on the filters would not result in an issue the laterals. If you replaced with a valve outside of that, you may run into issues during the install. The Top Mount Valve for Sand 1.5" - PL0714 is an alternate choice to the Hayward OEM.

We have a Hayward sand filter and not sure of the model. I do have a parts sheet saying it is either a s-210 T , 220 or 244. How do I figure out which one it one it is? I need to order a new lateral assembly and don't want to take it apart until I get the new part.

I have a Hayward S244T saND FILTER. ORDERED LATERAL with pipe , received replacement but the original pipe is 20 and 1/2, received lateral with 19 and 1/2. will this new lateral work?

Hello Marci. The lateral assembly SX244DA2X is the 2" version of the Folding Lateral Assembly with Center Pipe for the Hayward ProSeries Sand Filter model S244T2. The lateral assembly SX244DA2X is compatible with the 2" Vari-Flo XL Control Valve model SP071620T. The lateral assembly SX244DA is the 1 1/2" version of the Folding Lateral Assembly with Center Pipe for the Hayward ProSeries Sand Filter models S244T and S270T.
