Will this system work for an above ground pool as well or which system do you recommend for a 20k gallon above ground pool?

We just installed a 12,000 gallon inground pool, does this require a certain size pump or filter?

Hi Jessica, there are a number of variables to consider when sizing a pool pump and filter. Click here to view a guide that we put together for sizing a pool pump and here for our guide for sizing a pool filter for inground swimming pools that should assist.

Im considering replacing my Jandy Aqua Pure with the POWERCLEAN Salt Ultra 320. Small pool about 12,000 gallons. I will have to refit the pipes for the cell, which will not be difficult. And the powersource appears to be rather compatible as well? This appears to be very comparable replacement for a DIY? Your thoughts?

Hi Craig, yes this is a good replacement salt chlorine generator for the Jandy Aquapure series models. They are commonly sold and used with our customers and are manufactured by a reputable company that has had a presence in the swimming pool industry for many years.

I have 14,600 gallon in-ground pool. Would this be enough? I was told to go to the next step up; would 20,000 gallons be considered "next step up" enough?

Hello Stan, Yes that is the next step up is considered the  20,000 Gallons power clean 320

Can this be installed DIY or do I need an electrician or pool company to install this?
 Reply

A  Answered on 5/3/2021 by InyoPools Product Specialist Danny R.

Hi Ray,It depends on the person who is doing the DIY :)Personally, I installed my Salt System over one afternoon.  It does take some electrical knowledge and you will need to install the salt cell into your existing pool plumbing.  We do not have a How-to guide for this particular model, but here is a how-to for a similar salt system that we installed on my girlfriend's pool How to Install a Hayward Aqua Rite Salt Chlorine Generator

Does a salt chlorine generator eliminate the need to add chlorine?
 Reply

A  Answered on 5/6/2021 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

Hi Robert, With a salt-chlorine generator you are actually manufacturing your own chlorine. Here is an article we wrote on How Does a Salt Chlorine Generator Work which goes into detail on the process.

I have a 12X24X4.5 fresh water pool & thinking of converting to salt water, ? can I keep the filter tank, pump, heater and valve system or do I take it out and just use the salt water system.? please advise
 Reply

A  Answered on 5/11/2021 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

Hi Ken, You would keep all of your current equipment (pump, filter, heater, etc..) the salt system would allow you to manufactuer your own chlorine so it would take the place of chlorine tables or shock. We put together this Video on Converting your Pool to Saltwater which you may find helpful.

How often would I have to replace the salt cell on a In Ground Pool Salt System 20,000 Gallons POWERCLEAN® Salt Ultra 320 - 52000-220-000? I have a 13,600 gal inground pool in AZ.

A  Answered on 5/18/2021 by InyoPools Product Specialist Danny R.

A typical length on a salt cell is over 3 years.  It really depends on how often you use it.  If you are up north and close for half of the year it will last longer.  If you run it at full strength the entire time it will have a shorter life.  I know I am on year 4 on mine and have not had to replace it yet.
