When should I change the sand in my filter?

You should change the sand in your filter every 5-7 years. You can generally tell that it is time if your pool water is not as clear as it normally is or when you notice the interval between backwashes is shorter. You can use > this guide to walk you through it.

I purchased this sand filter from your company, my mistake I should have read the description of the product closer, instead of just referring to the picture. The picture depicts a multi valve, but this model is a slide valve. What is the item number for me to purchase the multi valve for this unit.

Hi Jack, The SP0715X62 multiport valve can be used with the S244SV filter.

I have a Hayward S-240, is the S-244v the proper replacement for this model, the flow rate and the amount of sand is the same, and it looks like my multi valve will hook up.

Andy, The S244 will replace the S240. Please note that the S244SV comes with a slide valve not a multiport valve.

I Have a Hayward sand filter model S244S. What multiport valve do I need. The existing valve is original (25 yrs) Hayward SP710XA-13 (best I can make out). Facing the filter with valve attached to filter the feed and return pipes are 1 1/2 and on the left of the multivalve. The drain is on the right.

I have a S244SV filter that the top dome cover keeps popping off at about 16 psi. The clamp is tight and even purchased a new clamp with no help. any suggestions?

Hi, Mike. Since you have already replaced the clamp, replacing the Dome - SX244K will be my next suggestion.
