My pool is 20x14 ft, approx. 10,500 gallons. I have a Reliant RAC Series Filter tank with a BC3113 filter size rated at 70GPM, and Hayward Super Pump 1 HP (model SP1607Z1M). Filter must be cleaned at least 2 or 3 times a week to maintain proper pressure. Skimmer socks helped a little. My pool area, including my entire backyard, is made of pavers so I don't have any trees or other debris that could dirty the pool.
Can the Hayward C2030 help me minimize cleaning, and is it the right size?
Reply
Hello Mario, yes based on the information given. This filter would help with the cleaning cycling and maintaining the pool's filtration.

Hello Kim- No the Hayward Swimclear Cartridge Filter 225 Sq Ft. C2030 will not work with your ecostar. You will need the Hayward Swimclear Cartridge Filter 525 Sq Ft. Filter - C5030. The flow rate of your ecostar is too strong for the 225.

I purchased the Hayward TriStar 1 1/2 HP Pump - SP3210X15, will this filter work or should I get a bigger one? My pool is about 20,000 gallons.
Reply
It depends on your flow rate so what is the distance from your pump to your skimmers and I can calculate your flow rate to decide if the C2030 is big enough or if you need to go with a bigger size.

Hi, what is the filter size recommend for 18´x36´ pool size?

Hi, Jose. Filter's are sizes based on the flow rate of your pump. This size filter would be sufficient for your pool if your pump flow does not exceed 84 GPM. You can use the steps in out How To Size a Pool Pump guide to calculate your flow rate.

I have a Swim Clear 2030 filter. There is a tiny hole drilled into the bottom of the pvc assembly piping (part #cx3030h) within the lower filter body (that connects to pool outlet). Pool repair person says it's supposed to have this tiny hole. What does it do?

I do not know what hole you are referring to. Can you attach a picture of the hole so I can give you a better answer?

My in-ground pool is 15,000 gallons (12x38) with 1.5" pipes and 1.5 HP pump. is this filter the correct size for my pool or should I go to the 325?
Reply
Hi Carl, This filter would be sufficient for a 12' x 38' pool. However you never can go to large a pool filter, so if your budget can afford then I would suggest going up to the 325. The benefits of the larger filter is that that you put less stress on your pump resulting in longer pump life, also a larger filter can filter more debris meaning more time between cleanings.

how can we back wash this unit and how often.
Reply
Hello Arsalan, cartridge filters do not required backwashing like the standard DE and Sand filters for pools; instead the cartridges are simply removed and washed off with a hose. We have a guide on how to clean your pool filter cartridge that should explain it. As for how long between cleanings should you go, that is varied from pool to pool and how big your filter is. The larger the filter the less maintenance is required.
