Hi Linda, The 4" Connector - Aqua (W33160) is used if you have a male adapter connection at you suction port where you connect the pool cleaner.

I got my G3 barracuda in Feb or March in Boynton Beach Fl at leslies pool supply My question is What can I do to stop the hose from detaching from G3 unit when pool pump shuts down. Almost every day I’m having to reattach in morning

Thank you for contacting Inyo Pools, If the hose is attached to the wall you could use one of the Hayward vac lock.

I have a Hayward lock it’s not coming off at wall but off the G3 unit, and I have part 33160 but it needs a male and male to go into hose and unit

  I recommend verifying that you have the correct end of the hose connected to the head of the cleaner. If you review page 5 of the attached owner's manual it displays which end connects to the cleaner head.
