If you are using hose for your plumbing then yes this is the proper union for the Hayward Super Pump. If you are using rigid PVC then youw will require this 1.5" Pool Pump Union

great thank you. I am trying to install the Hayward super VS to a Hayward S270T2 filter. the problem is the pump is 1.5 and the filter is 2". I don't mid using flexible pipe.

Hi Kevin, If you need to go from 1.5" to 2" then you will use this 1.5" x 2" Reducer Bushing or you could use this 1.5" x 2" Union

IM running new pvc into replacement hayward variflo valve(http://www.inyopools.com/pool_parts_multiport_variflo_xl_1_1_2_sp714t.aspx) - since that's a 1-1/2" female this should fit all 3 ports right?

Hi Edward, yes this 1.5-inch threaded barb fitting will thread into any of the three 1.5 inch ports on the Hayward Variflo multiport valve.
