Turn off the pool pump.
Remove the filter lid.
Take out the old grid assembly.
Install the new PL0187-ASSY assembly.
Secure the filter lid and tighten the clamp.
Restart the pump and add DE powder to the skimmer.

My pool filter is 20 years old. I clean it quarterly but decided to replace the grids. I then decided to replace the whole assembly due to its age. Found one on Inyo pools that I thought was reasonably priced and by replacing the whole assembly, it would be easier and faster. I ordered it and received it in about 5 days.
All I needed was a screwdriver and an adjustable wrench. The whole process took about 45 minutes.
Once I took the top off the filter, I lifted the old assembly out, washed out the inside of the filter and put the new assembly in. Then put it back together, started the filter and added the chemicals.
