I have a salt water DE filter pool using the SM2-PP2 valve. Is this the correct repair kit for that valve? It is leaking thru the stem.

I believe it is a model SM 20-2. The sticker on the top is partially missing. Does the Purex Triton have another location for the model number?

Bill - There would not be another location for the model number. If the valve number starts SM20, APCK1069 is the correct kit.

Is the silicone pack with this kit glue. If not can you give me the item number of the glue I would use with the spider gasket.

You would require Spider Gasket Adhesive which is not included in this kit.

1. How do I know that adhesive is needed for the valve gasket? The video says it "may" be required.
2. Why would a tune up kit be needed? Can I get away with a valve gasket only?

Hi David, If the gasket is sold separately then an adhesive is needed, some valve have the gasket comes already glued in to diverter. A Tune Up Kit may be need because it includes ann the o-rings and gasket needed for that unit. Once you take apart that unit to replace a certain part you can't really tell if another o-ring will start leaking once you put is back together so that way you can replace all the o-rings to prevent it from leaking again. Yoo can get away with replacing the valve gasket only, hopefully you will not have to replace any other parts shortly after.

I would like to replace the gaskets on a Pentair SM-20-2 DE valve and your website lists Two kits. Which kit should I use P/N APCK1069 or APCK1069S as the pictures are same?

Hi POGO, Both Kit will work with the SM-20-2 Valves. P/N APCK1069 include the Gaskets and O-rings and P/N APCK1069S includes the Gasket, O-rings and the Spring. If your spring is in good condition and has no sign of corrosion then I will recommend p/n APCK1069, If you jhave never replaced the spring the I would recommend p/n APCK1069S.

We have aTritron II sand filter system and we have been noticing sand in our pool. Our back wash valve seal was replaced but we are still getting sand in the pool. Any idea of whats happening?

Just to make sure I have a Value Model SM-20-3 27.3208 REV. F Valve Assembly Model SM2-PP3 (printed on top)
And it uses 2" pipe
Of course it leaks at the waste gate area. I guess the Lube is provided enough for the Spider Gasket
So is this the Correct Kit? Any other places for Lube too?

Hi, Redpath. This is the correct kit for the SM-20-3 valve. You will need to lube all of the o-rings, gasket and use a Gasket Adhesive - 81731.

I have a Pentair multi valve 125 gpm model sm-20-3 also says the assembly model is sm2 pp3.
My valve is leaking from the backflow pipe when unit is not running. After i close my pool next month i want to fix this. The unit is 10 years old, would i be better off replacing the whole unit or replacing all the gaskets on my current on? if replacing unit which one is best fit. if replacing gaskets what all would i need to replace everything while i have it apart.

Hi, Lynn. I would recommend replacing the entire valve since it's 10 years old. You can use the SM2-PP3 as a replacement. If you would like to repair the valve this MPV Tune Up Kit - APCK1069 will have all the parts needed except the Spring - E9S1. The Kit that includes the spring is P/N APCK1069S.

I have a praher TM-22 top mount filter and have been getting waste coming back in my returns when I backwash. Would this kit work on my filter valve? The filter is 10 years old. I don't have any suffix letters on the valve model number - just TM-22. Any other recommendations? Thanks

I also have a Praher SM-20. I have a leak from the top around the lever. Will the tune up kit fix that problem or do I also need to replace the spring? If so, would it be better just to replace the whole top unit?

If the valve body, lid, and handle are in good condition with no cracks or breaks then I would just recommend replacing the seals and such from the kit. Especially if you are fairly mechanically inclined. And yes, this is the correct seal kit for most commonly resolving this sort of issue on the SM20 series valve.
