Are the 150 predator and 200 predator interchangeable? Can I use a 200 in place of the 150. Big price difference.

Yes you can use the 150 ft.² replacement cartridge in place of the 200 ft.² replacement cartridge. The dimensions are all the same size the only difference is the number of plates within the cartridge.

The outside dimension is shown as 18 inches. The description shows 10 inches. Which is correct?

The outside diameter of this element should be approximately 10 inches for the clean and clear 150 sq. ft. cartridge.

Is the ID Top of the Pentaire 150 Filter 5-7/8 or 6-1/8" as the structure upon which the filter fits is 6" in diameter. If the filter is less than 6" it will never fit. The filter housing is from 2006, so I am not sure if the P/N is correct, although all other dimensions are correct. I would like to order, but am clearly concerned about the ID. Additionally are you able to ID the Model Number of the filter housing?

Hi, Stan. The ID is 6 inches. This filter will fit the Clean & Clear CC100 or CC100RP models.

There should be a label on the side of your filter, could you supply us with the information from that label? Or there should be a part # embossed into the plastic end cap of the cartridge, could you supply us that information? Hello, Is there a top and bottom on the install of these filters?
Also, I notice the Pleatco filters I have in my set-up has only 1 (one) band at the bottom of the cartridge,
should there be 4 bands around the cartridge like the ones pictured here?
I don't see any cartridge for sale with only one band...should I add more?

Yes, there is a top and bottom on the Clean and Clear OEM and Generic filters, there is a very slight difference in the ID holes for each. Unfortunately, they are not marked top or bottom. The larger hole end will be pushed down on the center core (click the link to see center core options key#7) http://www.inyopools.com/pool_parts_pentair_clean_clear_predator_system.aspx The more bands on the filter the better, if the filter is older and needs replaced you will notice they are broken. hello, What is the difference between R173216 & R173217? Pool size? The current filter is a Pure pleat with a p/n PPC4.
Measures ~10" X 31".

Hi Bob, You can use either cartridge for your filter as they do have the same measurements. The difference is one has more pleats which means more material is used for the cartridge giving it more filtering area. The PL0137 on this page has 150 Sq. Ft. of filtering material and the larger PL0138 on this page has 200 Sq. Ft. of Filtering Material. Once again you can use either.

Hi Kym, if the pool chemistry is well maintained, the pool equipment has been properly sized and there are only normal algae blooms then these cartridges can last approximately 2-3 seasons.

Hi Keith. If you would like to soak your cartridge to get it super clean, you can use this Filter Clean Cartridge Cleaner. Soak it in a clean garbage can or pail for 3 hours to overnight and then rinse it with a high-pressure flush from your garden hose before you reinstall it. Soak one-half of the filter and then flip it over if the filter is too tall to soak it all at once.
