Hello Steve - The cartridge will filter down to 10-20 microns. This cartridge is used in a filter than can handle up to 150 gpm.

please advise if a clean and clear 200 be able to replace a 150 and still work if not better??
I have a 150 now.....I am hoping to get more filtration from the 200.

Hi, You can replace your 150 cartridge with the 200 cartridge, the filtration would be about the same you but you will be able to go a bit longer in between cleanings.

What is the difference between this filter and Pentair R173217 except price. Is it just because it is generic name

Hello Al, The R173217 Pentair Clean & Clear O.E.M. Cartridge is the manufacturer replacement cartridge. The NFC0688 Predator/Clean & Clear 200 Generic Cartridge is a generic replacement cartridge.

Hello Tim, please look at what model number is on your filter. For the 200 is Pentair Clean & Clear 200, the 150 is NFC0687. These both goto Pentair Clean & Clear/Predator System.

Had one one these filters that indicated direction to install filter and bottom was different than top.
Bottom has built in piece that fit into housing bottom. Stillget these.???

Cartridge filters typically have an average of about 10-15 microns of filtration and the model Clean and Clear 200 has a max GPM(gallons per minute) rating of 150.

Are Clean and Clear 200 model the same filter diameter? My current one has a 15.5" and this model looked smaller.

The measurements are 31-1/8" Length, 10-1/8" Outside Diameter, and 5-7/8" Inside Diameter.

I have a older model pentair filter. The size of the filter in it now is 23.5 h 10.16 with the center hole at 6 in what filer does pentair recommend.

Hi, Bart. You will just pull the cartridge off of the center core. Instructions are available in Section D of the Pentair Clean and Clear Owners Manual.

Hello. I have a clean clear . I need a replacement filter. I measured 31 1/8 × 10 x 2. This filter seems like the one I need. There are so many numbers on the filter , how do I know which number is the filter number.

Hi Walter, The 1" variance should not cause a problem and this PL0138 is the correct replacement cartridge for the Pentair clean and clear 200. There should be more than enough room in the lid to accommodate the extra 1".

I have a Pentair Clean and Clear filter. Replacement cartridge part number in their manual is R173217 for 200 sq ft. My filter measures 31" tall, 9.5" diameter, and a center hole that's 5-5/8" diameter. Will cartridge work in my filter?

Hello Mike. Yes, the PLO138 filter element is compatible with your Pentair Clean & Clear 200 sq ft filter. The filter element dimensions are exactly the same. I have a Pentair 150 sq ft clean and clear filter. The 200 sq ft replacement filter is the same dimensions as the 150 sq ft filter. Can I use the 200 sq ft filter instead of the 150? One could assume more sq ft is more cleaning area? Thanks

It is not recommended to use a different size cartridge for your size pool filter. Use the correct size based on the model number of your filter.

I have either a Pentair CCRP150 or CCRP 200, but the housing is old and worn and I cannot tell which. I know this because the filter is 31 1/8" long, 10" diameter and 6" central core. Since I cannot tell which filter housing it is, which filter cartridge should I choose???

Hello Art. The Pentair Clean & Clear RP Cartridge Filter models CCRP 150 and CCRP 200 have the same housing dimensions which means that either one of the filter cartridges will fit your filter. The filter cartridges themselves have the same dimensions, the greater pleat density on the 200 sq ft element being the difference.
