Questions for: Armco O-Ring, Filter Tank 18-5/16" Inner Diameter, O-86, P24225

The inside diameter is 18-5/16" and the o-ring cross section is 9/16".

Hi. We're showing the same Tank O-ring - P24225 as being the replacement for your model filter. There is no alternate replacement. Make sure that you're lubricating and installing the o-ring correctly.

Hi Brian, What you are experiencing is a common sign that the o-ring has become over worn and needs replacing. This is the proper replacement O-Ring for the Pentair NSP36

There is an excellent youtube video of a guy working on a Pentair SMBW 2000 DE filter where he takes the clamp ring off and removes the lid by turning on the pump. To replace the lid he filled the tank about half full and shut off the pump with the lid setting on the o-ring and the suction created pulls the lid down on the o-ring. That is how I do it now after struggling with this problem for 15 years.

    Hi Douglas, Is it a cartridge filter or DE filter? How about this parts diagram here do think this is your unit? Purex CF ABS Cartridge Filter Parts Diagram If it is a cartridge filter can you pull any part #'s off of the plastic end cap of the cartridge? If so please reply back with that part #

        Hi Douglas, I'm showing that all of the filters that use the PFAB60 Cartridge use the PF 17-4704 Tank O-Ring which measures 12" ID x 7/16"

Hi Paul.  This is not the correct o-ring for your NS-36 filter.  The Tank O-ring - 152127 (OEM) or PF15-2127 (Generic) is the correct replacement for you.  Please note that the new versions will have a round profile.
