I have a question - I had bought this lid to replace my old lid. When pump was on the outer part of r0445800 lid just spun around but still let air in. So is the older jandy lid the same? I'm at a lose as I have ordered numerous o-rings that didn't work. It just so happens when we installed the pool, and spa's the motors changed that year. So if I order the other lid and I have trouble like I did with this part is it returnable?

On the R0445800, what is the trick to get the clear plastic piece inside the black locking ring. Mine does not want to assemble? Gets part of the way in but not all the way.
Hello, unfortunately, the clear lid for this particular lock ring is not designed for being disassembled and reassembled.
