Which way does the steel washer end fit into the pump?

Chester, The "spring loaded" portion in the photo is facing upwards. When it is installed on the impeller, the part that looks like a steel washer, would be facing the impeller. For further reference, please refer to our How To Replace a Pool Motor Shaft Seal Guide.

Hi, Jeremy. Unfortunately, this Pool Pump Shaft Seal Assembly - PO12728SA will not fit model # 72747. We do not carry a pump seal that will fit that model.

In order to locate the correct shaft seal or other seals for your pump, you will need to know the model name or number of the front pump housing that the motor bolts to. If you are not sure you can always send us an image of that housing to upload@inyopools.com.

Hi, Dennis. Yes, this Pump Shaft Seal will fit a motor shaft that is 1-2". However, this Pump Shaft Seal will fit the PureLine PL16, Splash, Splash Pool, Stark USA and PureLine PL15, Blue Wave, Dohenys, Splash, Stark USA model pumps.

So the seal kit is actually based on the model name or number of the front pump housing that the motor attaches to. If you are not sure of the model you can always send us images so we can review and confirm to upload@inyopools.com.

Unfortunately, we do not have a replacement parts list for that pump as we do not sell it. I suggest contacting the manufacturer directly for replacement part numbers.

Based on that part # you should have a Pentair Whisperflo and you will require this Whisperflo Shaft Seal and not the one listed on this page.

I have a century B2848 pool pump that is leaking water from near the bolts attaching it to the pool assembly. It’s a 4 bolt attachment. Can I use another brand seal kit ?
We have a Hayward pump - it’s approximately 10 years old. The motor recently quit. We’ve ordered a replacement but what seals do we need?
