No more Jugs of Liquid Chlorine

The Aquarite is the easiest way for you to sanitize your pool, and keep your crystal clear and silky smooth! The Aquarite uses common salt (the same salt used in water conditioners) and converts it into "free" chlorine. The chlorine sanitizes your pool and then reverts back into salt. That's right, the salt is recycled and never wears out. With only a teaspoon of salt per gallon, the Aqua Rite produces enough fresh chlorine to keep a 15,000-gallon pool sparkling clean without the chlorine smell. You'll never again have to worry about red irritated eyes, dry itchy skin, bleached bathing suits or green hair!

My system doesn't stay on all the time it comes on and generates then will kick off

A     Answered on 10/21/2016 by Adam Y.

Good Afternoon, depending on the size of your pool and the generating setting. This could cut off also has temp control and will not need to generate at low temps.

Hi: Can we use salt colorin generator for spa or no? if no why?

A     Answered on 9/25/2016 by Stacey M.

Hello, This unit can be installed on you Swim Spa, you will have to run it on a lower generating setting so that it does not over chlorinate the pool.

?     Asked on 9/15/2016 by Hamed

Does colorin generator balance all parameter of pool water like (free colorin&ph&stabilizer&total alkalinity) or no? if no do we need an ph perfect for our pool or no? and have can we balance our pool?

A     Answered on 9/15/2016 by Stacey M.

Hello Hamed, This AQR3 will only take care of you chlorine level, your PH is either increase by PH increaser (sodium carbonate) or decrease with PH decreaser (Dry acid). For Alkalinity it's Pool Alkalinity Increaser (Sodium Bicarbonate). For Stabilizer (cyanuric acid), make sure to test your water either with a test kit or at your local pool store to make sure everything is balanced and level.

can you install this unit between the pump and filter. there"s isn"t much room to install it the required 12inches to the return line

A     Answered on 8/19/2016 by Alan M.

It is recommended to install the salt cell after the filter on the return line back to your pool.

Hi, We are building a swim spa that will have approximately 4,000 gallons. Would there be any problem installing this unit? Anything special we ought to do for smaller volume of water? Thanks

approximately how often should this be replaced if it is cleaned every 6 months?

A     Answered on 8/14/2015 by Joe S.

Hello, the Aquarite cell should be checked every 3-4 months and cleaned as needed. There is a internal timer that will notify you when to check the cell also.

my pool is 11000 gallons but local pool supply companies say to buy the larger 40000 gal Hayward . is this just for a bigger sale or is there a valid reason?

A     Answered on 5/31/2015 by Patrick P.

Hi Mike, The larger system will produce more chlorine which is helpful if you get into a situation where you have a big algae bloom. Normally if you oversize the salt chlorine generator you will run the system for shorter periods of time meaning your cell will last quite a bit longer. So I think there are some valid points with upgrading to a larger system, however this system would also work just fine.

how much salt do start with originally 15000 gallon pool;

A     Answered on 5/8/2015 by Lennox H.

Derral, Your pool salt level needs to be about 3000 ppm in order for this salt system to work effectively. I would recommend getting your pool water tested before adding salt so you know how much salt to add.

Is the flow switch direction important?

A     Answered on 10/8/2013 by Patrick P.

Yes. The flow switch must be mounted so the arrows on the switch it’s self go in the direction of flow. Also, the flow switch requires 12 inches of straight pipe before the water enters the part to ensure there is no turbulence inside the switch compartment causing the switch to display “no flow” in error. Also, the switch needs to see at least 11GPM of flow to properly close the switch.

Can I use rock salt?

A     Answered on 10/8/2013 by Patrick P.

Rock salt is not an option. Rock salt has entirely too many impurities and could cause some issues with the pool water, or pool surfaces.

What is “SUPER CHLORINATE”?

A     Answered on 10/8/2013 by Patrick P.

The unit will run in 2 separate polarities and continually switch sides as long as the pump continues to run. The desired output percentage dial will tell the chlorinator how long to generate in each polarity, SUPER CHLORINATE simply tells the unit to ignore the dial setting for 24 hours and generate chlorine at 100% of its capability.

Will the Aqua Rite work on a portable spa?

A     Answered on 10/8/2013 by Patrick P.

The Aqua Rite chlorinator is specifically designed for use with in-ground pools, and will not work with portable spas or hot tubs due to its high output.

Will the water taste salty?

A     Answered on 10/8/2013 by Patrick P.

Generally you should not be able to taste any salt in the pool because the level of salt in the water is so low, however some people with sensitive palates might detect a small amount of salt.

To remove the stains, you can use this product. To prevent them you can use metal free.

I have a salt system on my pool. The pool is constantly turning green. The pool maintenance company we use shocks the pool every time it turns green but there seems to be no permanent solution. Could there possibly be something wrong with our chlorination system?

A     Answered on 10/18/2012 by Patrick P.

Without knowing more about the salt system and the water chemistry, it will be difficult to trouble shoot. I would recommend having the pool water tested and make any necessary adjustments. Once that is done, I would recommend contacting the manufacturer to trouble shoot the salt system to verify that it is working correctly.

I'm getting ready to start up my salt water pool. What chemicals do I need?

A     Answered on 5/22/2012 by Patrick P.

If you are staring up the pool, you will want to top off your pool water level before you add any chemicals. To keep a salt water pool chlorinated, the salt range should be about 3200-3500ppm (you can find it in the owners manual). You should not have to add a significant amount of salt to your pool each year unless the pool has lost a significant amount of water due to draining or leakage. When you open your salt water pool, you will want to check the stabilizer, total chlorine, free chlorine, pH, phosphates, salt and alkalinity. The main chemical you will want to pay attention to is the conditioner/stabilizer. The conditioner is sunscreen for the chlorine your system will be making. Simply put, no conditioner = no chlorine. Two additional products that I would recommend are Salt Water Magic & PHOSFREE

Is the salt included with the salt chlorine generator?

A     Answered on 2/29/2012 by Patrick P.

No, salt is not included.  You would purchase the salt locally and the quantity will depend upon the number of gallons of water in your pool.  Use a salt that is at least 99.8% pure NaCl. The preferred salt is evaporated, granulated, food quality, and NON-iodized.  Avoid using salt with anti-caking agents like sodium ferrocyanide, also known as yellow YPS (prussiate of soda). These cause some discoloration of fittings and pool surface finishes. DO NOT use calcium chloride.

I have a pool that is about 10,000 gallons but I am thinking of buying a salt chlorine system for pools up to 20,000 gallons. Would the larger unit be a problem?

A     Answered on 2/1/2012 by Patrick P.

It is not a problem to oversize a salt system.  It would take the larger unit less time to produce the necessary chlorine so it is actually more efficient.  When the pool volume is very close to the capacity of the salt chlorine generator (for example, the pool is 18,000 gallons and the generator is rated at a maximum of 20,000 gallons), we would recommend going up to the next size generator.
