What is the voltage on this unit? How long is the manufactures warranty? If the system requires repairs during warranty, what do I do?
 Reply

A  Answered on 7/4/2006 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

This pump runs on 115V power. This unit comes with a 1 year manufacturer's warranty. If the pump needed repair, you would call Hayward directly and they would put you in touch with a warranty service station in your area.

How many hours per day should I run my pump?
 Reply

A  Answered on 10/8/2013 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

There are many factors to consider; bather load, gallons of water, pump horsepower, type and size of filter just to name a few. A good guideline is 8-10 hours a day. On the cooler days and early and late season, you can cut the run time down to 4-6 hours because there is usually less swimmers and cooler water requires less chemicals. In peak season, when it is the hottest, raising the run time to 10-12 hours per day will help to keep the pool clean and circulating during it’s time of heaviest use.

Hello I asked this question about the impeller for the hayward pool pump but the answer you gave me back was for an 3/4 and 1 horse pumps, I have a 1.5 pump. I need the impeller and all the gaskets, seals, grease to install it. Again what is says on my pump is hayward matrix power flow 1.5 Sp 1593 what else might you need. Is there a kit that has all involved or just separate
 Reply

A  Answered on 4/27/2015 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

Hi Bo sorry for any confusion, it looks like Hayward uses the same impeller for both there 1 HP, 1-1/2 HP and 2 HP Matrix pumps, which is this Matrix Impeller. The seals and gaskets are sold individually and not as a kit and all of those items were listed in the last reply with links to each product, those items will be all that you need.

Hi Terry, This 1-1/2 HP Above Ground Pool Pump would be a good alternative to the Hayward Power Flo Matrix. I would double check the Port Locations & Dimensions on the pump I supplied to make sure it will work with your set up.

I had the basket off to look at the impeller it didnt spin real free. This pump run really good for about month. It is 2 year old now it has weak pressure. I back wash many times. The sand is 2 years old. What do you think
 Reply

A  Answered on 6/24/2015 by InyoPools Product Specialist Dennis R.

Mark - You might have to take the motor out of the pump housing to see why the impeller is not spinning freely. It may be cracked or loose or debris might be clogging it. Also check the diffuser. When you have the motor out and the impeller still doesn't spin freely, your motor bearings may be bad. See our guide on "How To Replace A Pool Pump Impeller" for information on pulling out the motor. You will not have to replace the impeller just ot look at it.

But when I hooked up the 1580X15 to the 27 ft diameter above ground pool, the flow is hardly enough to even hold the vacuum adapter and dos win place when I vacuum the pool.

How you determine horsepower for pump? My pool has 20,000 gal.
 Reply

A  Answered on 3/6/2017 by InyoPools Product Specialist Lennox H.

Hi, Rolando. The pump size would be based on the size of the pool, location of the pump, filter size and whether you have any additional features. For a 20,000 gallon above ground pool with a large enough filter can use a 1.5 HP pump.
