I have a 11500 gal pool running a Pentair WhisperFlo Pro 2hp pump, sitting about 14ft away from the pool. How long (hrs/day) should I run my filter pump.
Thanks a lot,

Hi Mario, there are few variables to consider when calculating the number of hours a pool pump needs to run. Here is a guide that we put together called "How Long Should I Run My Pool Pump?" that should assist with that.

I see that B845 and B846 (and B2846) are all recommended as replacement motors for my Pentair Whisperflo WFE-2 model 011511 pump. What is the difference ?
Reply
Hi, Casey. The B2845 is the correct replacement motor for the WFE-2 model pump. The B2845 is an energy-efficient motor and the B2846 is the standard option that is used with the WF-2 / 011578 model.

Our HOA has a decorative fountain at the entrance. It uses a Pentair WFE-2 pump for circulation. The pump has failed. When I look at the WFE-2 spec's the amperage does not match the amperage listed on the current pump motor.
I have a 1/2hp 1.9SF, .98 SFHP on one decal. The motor plate shows 6.0-5.6/11.2 amps with a part number of 7-177449-03. The WFE-2 on the Inyo website lists 4.5-4.4/8.8 amps. Is this the correct replacement pump?
Reply
Hi, John. This is the correct replacement. The motor currently used is motor energy efficient.

How many gph is this pump? If I change this pump to 110 volts will it affect gph?

Hello, In order to calculate this for you, we will need to know the total dynamic feet you have on your pool. Here is a helpful link on how to do so.https://pentairaes.com/pump-calculator

i need to find a pump for swimming pool - I want to also run a 36" cascade fountain off the pool - do i need 2 pumps. The pool dimensions are 18' by 11', depth 5'

Hi. To determine what size pump you need for your pool check out our How to Size a Pool Pump, How Do I Calculate Feet of Head for My Pool? and How To Measure Total Dynamic Head With Gauges guides.

I am having a Pentair Whisperflo 1/2 HP 011511 pump installed and will be running it with 115V power. The wiring diagram on the motor shows "Line" labeled for both terminal 1 and terminal 2 (assuming both hot for 230V setup). For 115V wiring, does it matter which line is hot and which line is nuetral? I could not find it specified anywhere.

Hi, John. You can use our How To: Wire WhisperFlo & Similar Pumps For 115V guide to assist you with wiring your motor.

Does the Whisperlfow 011511 1/2hp pump also include the motor assembly as well - as shown in the picture? Or are the motor and pump sold separately?
Thank you,
Michael

I have a interior 5000gal small pool need good economical pool pump with filter can you advise I would like to run pump 8 hours a day
my pump is placed in basement under(beside pool) with maybe 20 feet of piping to drain. my pool being inside is never dirty
so I have never changed sand almost never need to backwash.

Hi, Dave. This Whisperflo EE 1/2 will be sufficient for circulating 5000 gallons of water. With 20 feet of heat this pump will produce a flow rate of 85 GPM, so you will have to make sure that your filter can handle that water flow. If it can not you may need to use a different pump like the Hayward Super Pump - SP2607X5.

My Model 196232, Whisper Flo Pump is currently running on a 110/15 amp circuit. What can I do to change it to 220 if at all possible?
Reply
You would need to change your breaker, possibly line to the pump and set the pump to 230 volt if that setting is possible

is this a high head pressure pump?
What are the specs on this pump,GPM etc?

Hi, Dave. This is a High Flow pump. You can view the performance info via the Whisperflo Performance Curve Curve Key E.

I have a WFE-2 1/2 hp pump. I am wondering how much power does this pump consume ... it says its 1/2 hp so it should consume ~ 375 Watts? Can you please details its power consumption. Thanks

Ali, the Pentair Whisperflo 011511 draws Amps:11.2 if you are running 110 volts or 6.0-5.6 if you are running 220 volts.

Is a 2 hp pump a ok replacement for a 1.5 hp pump? Both are whisper flo. I was told that it would not work because of sand filter issues. I find that hard to believe.
Reply
I would need to know what model your sand filter is and the distance in feet from your pump to your main drain so that I can find your estimated flow rate and if your filter is able to handle the increased flow rate that you're wanting.

Hello. I have the pentair wfe-2 model and it was great but just stopped working. The line voltage is good and the capacitor tested good and the impeller is free spinning. Is there anything else that may have gone wrong or is the motor shot? If so can i purchase the motor separately ? Thank you
Reply
Hi, If the motor is getting power it sounds like the motor is shot. The 1/2 HP Standard Motor - Full Rate (B846) will be the correct replacement. I woull also recommend getting the Pentair/Purex Whisperflo Tune Up Kit.

I just finished replacing the shaft seal on my booster pump. As soon as I turned the pump on water was leaking from the shaft seal. Is it defective or am I doing something wrong?
Reply
Depending on the model, the installation of a booster pump shaft seal can be slightly different than a pool pump shaft seal. Some booster pump and pool pump shaft seals require that a silicone sealant be used on the outer areas of the metal seat of the shaft seal. The seal will need to be lightly hammered into the body of the pump. You can use a 1 inch PVC coupling or a piece of 1 1/4 inch PVC pipe and a rubber mallet. This procedure will apply to any pool pump or booster pump using a >PS-1000 style shaft seal.
