Hi Paul, Yes you can do this conversion and you would require the Starite System 3 S7D75 DE Conversion Kit and the S7D75 DE Grids.

Karl- There is currently no way to convert the Sta-Rite System 3 Sand S7S50 & S8S70 to a cartridge filter.

Hi. Ron. To convert the S7M120 to a sand filter you will need the following parts 25021-2021 and 24900-0100S along with 200 pounds of sand. You would also need a Valve Assy 18202-0150 or 18201-0200.
