Do I need this kit with the tank body 17307-0110S that I have ordered? Or will the existing (O) ring and slip ring come out of the body with no damage?
Reply
Everything should come out fine if your current pump has similar unions. The only thing I might recommend for your Sta-Rite Pump would be new o-rings for the unions and some lubricant to be sure they seal up perfectly.

do I need two unions or one for my max-e-pro?

The Adapter Kit, Union 2" Slip Wg (pkg 188) is a set of 2, it includes (2) U11-196PS 2" SLIP TAILPIECE (2) U11-200PS UNION NUT (2) U9-362 UNION O-RINGS. You will only need to order one PART # 5057-29B for the intake and discharge fo the Max-E-Pro pump.

Will the u11200ps union nut thread to a Hayward skimmer sp1091exterior threaded tail piece?

We are not able to confirm as the mfg does not list a matching item. Hayward uses a non standard finer thread on their unions & the skimmer did not match up to either their 1-1/2" or their 2" unions. We suggest you contact them direct. @ 800-657-2287 with your SP1091LX question.

Do you know if there is a threaded side of the union is available in 2" pvc, the corresponding part (tailpiece?) that the nuts would screw onto? I'd need to take my spa heater out for repair and need to make a bypass for the heater so the system will still filter while the heater is out.

I have the Sta Rite Max E Therm pool heater with the connector tubes, however I am looking for the threaded fittings that connect the 2" PVC pipe to the fittings?

If you have the Sta-Rite Max E Therm heater then you would require the PKG188 unions which are sold in a pack of two, one assembly for the inlet and assembly for the outlet, you may view or purchase these unions here http://www.inyopools.com/Products/07501352011572.htm we also have the parts schematic for the Max E Therm heater here http://www.inyopools.com/pool_parts_sta_rite_max_e_therm_water_system.aspx Thank you for the great question.

Pros: Simply Work!
Cons: none
It took me a while to find/figure out that my old Sta-Rite Pool Filter had such a part available because locally available 2" unions at the local big box stores did not fit. I was please to find this kit available and INYO had the best overall price I could find. Shipping was quick and the parts did the trick!
