I have a Hayward pro series sand filter model no s244s with a six position valve. The valve needs to be replaced or repaired . The label on the valve with the model # have wore off, not sure if this is the correct valve. Please advise
Hi James, You will need to take a look to see if the plumbing going into the valve is 1-1/2" or 2" there should be some digital writing on the white pvc pipe indicating your pipe size. The replacement valve for 1-1/2" pvc is part number SP0710X62. The valve for 2" pvc is SP0715X62.
I have a triton tr60 sand filter with a hayward vari flow valve model 710. It seems to wear out prematurely the spider gasket and is hard to turn. I was thinking I should replace this assembly. Maybe the coil spring and other parts are worn to help facilitate this problem. Am I thinking right or do I not know how to put a simple looking gasket in correctly? PS We bought house in 1992 and it was here then..Also if needed , do I have the correct one in this diagram?
Hi Greg, I think you are on the exact path here with replacing the handle assembly. This would give you the complete new top half of the valve. You may want to also purchase the Hayward 710 Cover O-ring shown as Key #6 in the 710 Valve Parts Diagram as this o-ring is not included in the cover assembly. Based on the information you provided this would be the correct cover assembly for your valve.
We have a Hayward multiparty valve model 710, 75 GPM, 50 psi. Is this the correct key, cover and handle assembly replacement?

I removed the assembly of the backflush and replaced it with the new one. It was not too difficult to do. After I replaced the assembly it still was leaking. Had to find the reason and it is the whole black housing. Just received it in yesterday. Looking to put it in today.

This part was slightly cheaper than the entire vari flow assembly but was installed in a matter of minuted, rather than an hour or more that would require pulling the whole filter top vari flow apart. Considering replacing the most functional part of the vari flow mechanism without removing a single hose (or two or three). This was a GREAT option to full replacement of the vari flow system!

Ordered this handle assembly assuming it came with a new o-ring, based on the illustration. Nope, no o-ring and reusing the old o-ring resulted a bad leak. Took several attempts to find the correct o-ring. Big hassle, but handle works fine now.

Pros: Easy installation
Cons: The o-ring isn't included.
My old handle had a constant leak at the top. Till I replaced all the parts it was easier and much less trouble buying a new one. Very happy with the new one fit perfect.

Pros: Excellent customer service
Cons: Quality and Quality Assurance follow-up
Product was received very quickly and in good condition. The only problem was that the label was placed crooked and did not fully seat into the top of the valve assembly. I was not able to remove and reseat it, so it stayed as it was crooked. Need some Quality Assurance completed before sending out a product to customers. The service I received was outstanding. This is my 2nd order from this company and both have been excellent and I would recommend this company to anyone thats need parts, especially if you need them, in a rush.
