If you have a Hayward Max-Flo 2 then the shaft seal is part number 3260-105. If you are not sure you can attach a picture of the complete pump, not just the motor, and I can identify it for you to confirm that is the correct shaft seal.

The replacement motor is model UST1152 and the seals and gaskets depend on the model name or number of the front pump housing that the motor bolts to. If you do not have that model you can always email images of the housing to upload@inyopools.com so we can try and identify it for you.

Hi, Brian. You can replace your 1.0 HP motor with a 1.5 HP motor using the 1.0 HP impeller. However, if you want more water flow, you will need to make sure that your system can handle the increased water flow and you will need to purchase the 1.5 HP Impeller.

Need to replace this pump Model #C48D31A04. I recently replaced the filter with Pentair 420. Do I need 1.5 HP Motor? If so, what would be compatible?

 Reply

A  Answered on 6/9/2021 by InyoPools Product Specialist Craig C.

Hello Maureen.  If you wish to replace the motor on your existing pool pump, then the compatible motor part number would be SPX2710Z1m.  Additionally, replacing the motor also involves replacing the motor shaft seal, gaskets, and o-rings.  Bulkhead O-ring - SX220Z2   Pump Shaft Seal 5/8" - - SPX2700SA PSR-200  Valve To Filter O-ring Id 6-3/4", Od 7-1/8" (gmx600f) O-263  The Pentair filter model 420 has a flow rating of 150GPM.  The Hayward Max-Flo XL 1.5HP pump has a flow rating of  70GPM at 40 feet of head.  The 1.5HP motor would be a good choice.

Can you recommend replacement motor for Hayward Max Flo VS Model SP2300VSP. Found the Hayward Max FloXL SP2300X Series with identical seal plate part number so should bolt up. Question would be shaft length but that should be the same since it is using the same seal plate. Not interested in spending another thousand to end up with a pump I can't fix, doubt I was saving anything on electricity anyway (thank you California), so would like to convert to single speed average pump. Thank you.

A  Answered on 6/24/2021 by InyoPools Product Specialist Craig C.

Hello James.  The Hayward Max-Flo II 1.5 HP motor is compatible with the Hayward Max-Flo VS model.  The motor shaft length will not be problematic. The pump hydraulics will not be identical once the transition to a single-speed is accomplished.  It is recommended that the motor shaft seal be replaced at the same time, part number 3260-105. Pump Shaft Seal 5/8" - - SPX2700SA PSR-200  Your message references the State of California, please make sure you are not in violation of California Title 20 legislation with this motor change.

Hello Phil.  The Century Motors Bearing 6203RS, requires qty 2, is the correct bearing replacement for the motor model SPX2710Z1M.  It is recommended that the motor shaft seal, seal plate o-ring, and diffuser o-ring be replaced after completing the motor bearing replacement and assembling the pump.  Bulkhead O-ring - SX220Z2    Pump Shaft Seal 5/8" - - SPX2700SA PSR-200    O-ring Id 6-3/4
