Does the unit come with the caddy and the PVC brush for in-ground plaster/masonite/concrete pools?
Reply
The NE250 (DL2019) does include the brush. The caddy is sold separately and can be seen on our web site at Dolphin Caddy

Does the NE250 work with aboveground pools?
Reply
No, it does not. For aboveground pools, we recommend the Robo-kleen aboveground pool cleaner. To view it click on this link: http://www.inyopools.com/Products/05600005003154.htm

I've had a Polaris cleaner for 15 years and need to replace it. How does it compare to the NE250? Can I use the same booster motor?
Reply
The NE250 is a robotic cleaner. It's a little different than the Polaris, but is one of the more popular cleaners on the market. It does not require a booster pump, but rather sucks everything into its own internal filter bag. The bag needs to be emptied periodically, similar to a household vacuum. The Dolphin cleaner will also climb up the sides of your pool unlike the Polaris pressure pool cleaner. We recommend the Dolphin over the older Polaris models.

Our pool is a group of three overlapping or intersecting rectangles. There are inside corners with 90 degree turns as well as outside corners with 270 degree turns. Will the Dolphin Diagnostic, NE250 navigate the outside 270 degree turns?
Reply
The swimming pool does not have to be rectangular or round. It can be any shape and the Dolphin will navigate around the swimming pool. It may favor some parts of your pool, but should clean around the entire swimming pool.

Does this unit come with the remote control or if not, will it work with a remote?
Reply
The Dolphin Diagnostic does not come with a remote. According to the manufacturer, the DL2019 model cannot be used with a remote control. The Dolphin Dynamic (2002) comes with a remote and caddy. This can be seen on our web site at: http://www.inyopools.com/Products/05600005003539.htm

I was wanting to buy a Dolphin Diagnostic Robotic Cleaner. Some I have been looking have a 65 foot cord and other only a 50 foot cord. I need the longer one (65) but I only saw you had a 50 foot one. Can you help me or do you only sell on with the 50 foot cord length? Thanks
Reply
About 2 years ago Smart Pool made changes to this pool cleaner, one of the changes they made was reducing the cord length from 65' down to 50' We only have the new models available with the 50' cord. If you can get by with a 55' cord we would recommend the Tiger Shark pool cleaner which you may view or purchase through this link http://www.inyopools.com/Products/00100001005585.htm The nice thing about the Tiger Shark is that it uses cartridges instead of a bag. All you need to do is remove the cartridges from the bottom of the machine, then rinse and clean with a garden hose!

Is it safe to swim while this unit is in use?
Reply
You cannot swim nor run the pump/filter while this unit is in use. The reason behind this is that the slightest wave or hit could knock the unit off of the wall while it's climbing. The unit can sit in the pool while turned off, and waves won't bother it, but it cannot be used while the pool is occupied or the pump/filter are running.

Please explain the difference between the standard dolphin replacement filter bags, disposable filter bags, how often to replace, can you just pull out and wash? Also I noticed you sell replacement scrubber brushes, how do these need to be replaced? Is this machine hard on a vinyl liner?
Reply
The standard dolphin replacement filter bags are designed to handle finer debris like sand and silt and these bags typically lasts 3 years. The standard bags can be washed in a washing machine using no detergent. The disposable filter bags are designed to handle larger debris like leaves and twigs and are recommended when opening the pool in the spring or closing the pool in the fall. The disposable bags last 2-3 cleanings and may be purchased through this link http://www.inyopools.com/Products/00100001004983.htm The Dolphin robot pool cleaners are designed to work on vinyl liner, gunite or fiberglass pools and the scrubber brushes typically last 3-5 years. The manufacture recommends cleaning the scrubber brush periodically with a mild dish detergent to prolong the life of the brush.

Will the Dolphin caddy fit all of the Dolphin machines?
Reply
According to the manufacturer, the same caddy is used for all of the Dolphin cleaners purchased over the internet. The only exception might be some of the commercial models that come with their own caddy.

I need a part for my Dolphin pool cleaner but I don't see it on the parts breakdown. Is there still a chance you may still have it?
Reply
The manufacturer which is Maytronics, does not offer all parts for sale. If you don't see a part on the breakdown you can give us a call. For parts that they do not consider "DIY (do it yourself), you will need to contact them and send in the cleaner for repair.

if this is no longer available, which model is most similar? I have one but it is getting old so I need a new one.

Hi Lucy, I would suggest the Dolphin Dynamic W/ Remote or the AquaBot Pro Cleaner as the two most similar cleaners to the Dolphin Diagnostic Advantage.

The last time we used our Dolphin Diagnostic Advantage cleaner, the cord became caught in the wheels. The robot now does not move at all. Have we burned out the motor. Can the motor be replaced or repaired.

Hi Christopher, You will have to contact Maytronics at 1.888.365.7446 to see about a replacement motor.

Why doesn't my dolphin. diagnostic cleaner climb the walls anymore it tries but can't get up. Can I use disposable bags instead of the cloth bags.. Thank you It is not the advantage
Reply
Hi, Joann. The unit does not have enough suction to make it up the wall. That can be caused by a dirty bag or clogged impeller. You can use the Disposable Bag - 9991440-ASSY.

I bought this from a pool store that said this could be used on above ground pool. I have not had any problems. Are there danger to my liner for using this vacuum?
Reply
Hi, Rose. This cleaner is not meant to be used in above ground pools. It will try to climb the walls and will require a special brush for a vinyl liner.

I am changing tho plug on the cleaner that goes to the power supply.. What pins are used?
Reply
Chuck, If you purchased the DIY version of the cord, you can use this how to guide for reference.

The yellow track keeps coming off one of the wheels, is there a solution for that? Also, whats a current model that is similar to this model but new?
Reply
Hi, Ricardo. First, inspect the tracks, pulley gears and guide wheel for wearing. If they're bad then you'll need to replace them. See our selection of Robotic Pool Cleaners for replacement options.

I suggest reading and trying out some of the techniques mentioned in this guide: How to Troubleshoot a Dolphin Pool Cleaner

My Dolphin Diagnostixs pool cleaner will not submerge. What could be the problem?
Reply
I pulled this off the Maytronic's website...My Dolphin Pool Cleaner floats/won’t sink all the way to the bottom of the pool: • When a Dolphin Cleaner wants to float it is usually due to trapped air in the cleaner or the pool’s chemicals are out of balance – either the pH or salinity. Refer to your owner’s manual for appropriate ranges. • If your model has a filter bag, turn the Dolphin upside down in the water. While upside down, open the two flaps on the bottom filter lid, and using your fingers, open the two slots where the debris goes in, and allow any trapped air to be released. Periodically, wash the bag in a washing machine – Air dry.
