This part is not too hard to replace. It literally just unthreads and comes off. It isn't too much to unscrew it either. Just release the pressure, unthread, and reinstall the new assembly.

why would water come out of the top of this?

Hi David, If one of the o-rings is bad water would leak out of the Air Relief Assy. The Manual Air Relief Assy (DEX2420MAR2 / DEX2420MAR) is used to monitor the pressure in the filter and to bleed out excess air out of the filter.

Hi. Can you get this part without the gauge? I ask because I just got a gauge and now I discover a crack in the top of the housing I assume this is why I'm not getting any pressure.

I broke off the screw in air relief screw. I was able to thred it so it stays in. Is there anyway to get the screw. Part all the way out and put a new one in or will I have to replace the whole assy

You can try making an indentation in the threaded portion so a flat head screw driver can fit in the slot and back it out. Then you can replace it with the Air Relief Ass'y W/ O-ring (ccx1000v).

I have a Hayward DE filter DE3600 from 2001 The air relief fitting at the top of the filter is leaking small amounts of water I opened it up cleaned it all lubed all the o rings and lubed the plastic threaded parts the sleeve is looking kind of worn but I see this is no longer available is this manual air Relief Assy a direct replacement for the one on there now ?

I have a older Hayward DE filter DE 2420L with DEX6000DA grids from 2002/2004. My filter has a Air Relief Assembly DEX2420AR(part number) with the ball inside it. Will this assembly fit my older DE unit. If so do I need to do any thing with the ball assembly or when I take out the old assembly all is connect and just replace it with the new assembly.Thanks for your time

I have an older model DE Filter, model 4820. Is this manual airrelief valve goining to fit my unit. Also the old original unit has a auto relief valve as well, my question is if the DEX2420mar2 will work as a replacement and it doesn't have an automatic air relief valve how does the air escape when it turns on automatically and there is no one there to manually relief the air.

Hi, Joe. This Manual Air Relief Assy - DEX2420MAR2 will fit your model filter. However, is not equipped with an automatic air relief feature. It will have to be manually opened and closed.
