Hi Carl, The 2" Valve Top Assy white w/ decal (E-50-S2) will fit on the SM20-2 Valve. You replace just the 5-Spoke Diverter Gasket (271148) or get the Tune Up Kit (APCK1069).

I relly need help, have a very old inground pool from early 70's. I have a Purex, triton, Model SM-20-2 multiport valve. I cannot turn the handle anymore and water is filling the chamber and backwashes into pool. I need a new one, need a compatible mate.

I installed the sm20-ao , new de filter panels and now the water pressure from the pump to the filter is crazy high. Any idea as to why?

Hi Joel, You may need to open the air relief valve on the filter and check to see if the correct amount of D.E. powder has been added. Also check the pressure gauge to make sure it's not giving you a faulty.

I have the Pac Fab DE DNS 48 filter. This cover looks like the correct one for me, but apart from the looks, what do I need to check to see if it is correct? The label on my current valve is totally gone apart from xxxx3207 in the top right which I believe to be the label p/n. I do know at least the valve is a side mount, in that it is positioned in front of the DE filter.

Hi Don, here are the valve functions and their different uses. 1. Filter - For normal filtering and regular vacuuming. 2. Backwash - For cleaning filter sand bed of accumulated debris. 3. Rinse - Use after completing backwash cycle to ensure all dirty water is rinsed out of the filter to waste. 4. Waste - By-passes the filter for draining or lowering pool water level and for vacuuming heavy debris directly to waste line. 5. Recirculate - Water is recirculated through the valve, by-passing the filter. 6. Closed - Shuts off the flow from the pump to the filter.

Same issue as most of the others. Water leaking up from the handle, no longer springing back into place and difficult to turn. Looking for a replacement for a Sta-rite md: 18201-0300 diverter valve side mount 2 inch assembly.

Hi, Larry. You can use the following parts or options to repair your valve. Option 1: replace the seals using either the MPV 2" Tune Up Kit (NO SPRING) - APCK1069, MPV 2" Tune Up Kit w/Spring -APCK1069S. Option 2: replace the Top Valve Assy - E-50-S2 (White) or E-50-S2B (Black) along with the Cover O-ring - E-7-S2 and the Diverter Gasket - E-12-S2.
