Will this be a good fit for a replacement for the Hayward so 715 with. Triton 140 DE filter?

Hi Ed, Back in the day Purex / Pentair used Hayward valves on there Purex Triton filters however some while back Pentair started making there on valves. With this being said there are two valves which can be used on your filter the Hayward SP715ALL Valve or the Pentair 261055 Valve. The 261055 valve is a lot easier. There is a Slight difference in this and that old SP715 valve which has the pump and return ports one above the other. The 261055 will have them slightly staggered. The advantage of the 261055 Valve is that you won’t have to redo the plumbing coming from valve to filter. The SP715ALL Valve will have to be re-plumbed with new bulkhead nuts and pipe and the plumbing will have to be quite exact or the bulkhead nuts on the valve won’t match the spacing on the filter.

My valve is the Praher model # SM20-1, serial # 1924442. Can you please tell me which of the parts fit this valve? The valve positions are facing the sky and the filter feed is to a DE filter. I am losing pool water and I think it is escaping through the backwash or waste water pipes.

The Valve, Sm W/plumbing 2" P.f. D.e. (sm2-pp2) will not work on your Jandy DEL 48 D.E. Filter. Since you're replacing the complete valve you can replace your valve with the Jandy 2" Standard Multiport Valve For DEL48 & DEL60 or the MPV, 2", Piping Var. 2 (Fpt ) (SM-20-2).

How do I know if the 1 1/2" or 2" is needed? Is it by the size of the bulkhead nut?

Jimmy, What the valve is referencing being 2" or 1.5" would be your plumbing. So you would just measure the diameter of your current plumbing.

I have a Nautilus NS48 DE filter with the push pull valve which I would like to replace with a multi port valve. I know the 2 inch size refers to the pump inlet and outlet sizes. I am interested in the filter inlet and outlet, what is the threaded pipe size? Also what is the distance between the distance between the filter inlet/outlet ports?

Hello Rick, from what the SM20 matches on DE filters is 2" Multiport Valve Threaded for D.E - 261152. Please check specs to see if this is correct for your filter.

Here is the parts diagram with the listed versions of the SM20 series multiport valves. Usually the model number is on the label on the top of the valve itself. If you cannot locate the valve model then you can send us a few images to upload@inyopools.com to assist in identifying it.

Have a 7-8 year old SM2-PP2 valve for DE filter.
Have significant leakage coming from the Backwash/Waste line out of the filter when the pump is engaged.
Any suspect part which may have to be replaced?

Hi, Diane. The ports are labeled, the PUMP port is the Top Left, the RETURN port is the Bottom Right, and the WASTE port is the parallel port.

Hi Brian, Thanks for those photos the -AO part # indicates with no plumbing but after seeing your part #'s you do need the plumbing which attaches to your filter and this 4715A Valve W/ Plumbing for FNS Plus would be the valve you require.

Praher SM2-PP2 Or Pentair 261152 are both the same. On top of valve it has NSF SM-20-2,SM2-PP2 neither one has a check or mark on it.

I am looking for a replacement multi-port backwash valve for a Jandy DEV60 Filter. The Praher model number of the existing backwash valve is SM20-2. Also, my setup has unions.
Is the Pentair 261152 the appropriate replacement?
I have a SM2-PP2 valve for DE filter and the valve is leaking on the small plastic screw on the front. I replaced the plastic screw but it is still leaking. I tried some putty around it but still leaking. What would you recommend?

Hi James, you can try to remove the screw, and place a back mount pressure gauge in its place using teflon tape as well to help seal it.
