How many hours per day should I run my pump?
 Reply

A  Answered on 10/8/2013 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

There are many factors to consider; bather load, gallons of water, pump horsepower, type and size of filter just to name a few. A good guideline is 8-10 hours a day. On the cooler days and early and late season, you can cut the run time down to 4-6 hours because there is usually less swimmers and cooler water requires less chemicals. In peak season, when it is the hottest, raising the run time to 10-12 hours per day will help to keep the pool clean and circulating during it’s time of heaviest use.

Can I use this pump to pump water up to my solar panels? Can I retrofit this pump to plumb to 2"pvc?
 Reply

Hi JD, For pumping water up to solar panels I would suggest our High Head Hayward Super II 1 HP Pump. The high head pumps to a better job pumping water up the roof. And you could put reducer bushings to reduce from 2" to 1-1/2" plumbing.

 Reply

Yes, there's an option for next day air on pumps. Just be aware of when you order. If it's after 12 noon the order won't be shipped until the next day.
