Does this pump meet California code for pool pumps?
 Reply

A  Answered on 5/11/2013 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

California law will vary but most codes require any pump over 1HP to be a dual speed or variable speed. For a  15,000  gallon above ground pool, I would recommend a 1.5 HP dual speed pump: http://www.inyopools.com/Products/02200001004959.htm

How many hours per day should I run my pump?
 Reply

A  Answered on 10/8/2013 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

There are many factors to consider; bather load, gallons of water, pump horsepower, type and size of filter just to name a few. A good guideline is 8-10 hours a day. On the cooler days and early and late season, you can cut the run time down to 4-6 hours because there is usually less swimmers and cooler water requires less chemicals. In peak season, when it is the hottest, raising the run time to 10-12 hours per day will help to keep the pool clean and circulating during it’s time of heaviest use.

Is all I need to do is add hoses to each end and put them in the water to make it go?
 Reply

A  Answered on 6/19/2014 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

You would also require a filter, the system would work as follows.... Pump with hose back to pool skimmer, hose between pump and sand filter and then a hose from sand filter back to the return wall jet on pool. If you already have this set up then you could just replace your pump whith this pump here.  If you need the entire system which includes the pump, sand filter and hoses then you would require this complete pool pump & filter system

I currently have a side discharge pump. Can the pump be rotated 90 degrees, making it a side discharge?

Unfortunately, this pump does not have the ability to turn sideways to make the discharge a side discharge.

Fast delivery on pump. I bought this to replace a Hayward dynamo pump that is on it's 12 year of service. The Hayward pump is still working but will replace it with the pureline pump. The overall quality is great.on the pureline pump. I am using.it on a inground pool because the Hayward pump was also listed for above ground pools and never had a problem with pressure and suction. Also the price was really great. Thanks Robert Schaffer

Pump bearings seized.

Written on 3/13/2020 by Guest

Closed the system service valves. Removed the old pump and motor from system by disconnecting the inlet and outlet quick couplings. Removed the adapters from the old pump and motor and installed them on the new pump and motor using teflon tape to ensure a leak free connection. Installed the new pump and motor using the same quick connections. Reopened the service valves on the pool to allow water to flow to the pump and applied electrical power to pump motor. pump began to push water and all was good again.

Old pump stopped working

Written on 9/5/2019 by Guest

Unplugged old pump. Stuffed the water holes from return box with rags. Unhooked the old pump. Removed the old pump. Set new pump in place. Hooked up the water tubes to new pump. Removed rags. Started new pump. Had to check to be sure it was running because it was so quiet.

Leaking form the pump motor shaft seal.

Written on 7/22/2019 by Guest

Originally tried to replace the seal in the old pump, but the impeller was seized to the shaft. After looking online and finding an inexpensive replacement pump from INYO, I decided to abandon the repair operation and simply replace the pump. Pump arrived in timely manner, well packaged annd was as advertised. My existing fittings all fit the new pump and I was back in operation within an hour.

My Hayward Pump Stopped Working

Written on 4/22/2019 by Guest

After talking to the service representative here we determined what was the right pump for my pool.

Ordered the Pump.

Got the pump in 2 days.

Plugged the hoses from the pool, disconnected the hose from pool to pump, then removed the one from the pump to the sand filter.

Unscrewed the 2 screws holding down the pump.

Removed fittings from the old pump and installed them on the new pump.

Replaced the hoses then primed the pump and turned the system back on.

My old above pool pump was down and out!

Written on 8/2/2018 by Guest

1. Plugged the skimmer intake hole and return on my above ground pool with small towels. 2. Disconnected incoming and return hose from old pump ( put skimmer hose end in skimmer , prop return hose up against pool wall ). 3. Unscrewed old pump from base. 4. Place new pump on the base and reverse process. Prime new pump and you are back in business. Quick and easy!

Old pool pump had begun to seize up, so replaced it with this one

Written on 6/15/2018 by Guest

I shut off old pump, set filter valve to "Closed/Winter", put a Gizzmo style plug in the skimmer basket. Using a screwdriver, I loosened the pipe clamps for the intake and filter hoses. I removed the lid from the top of the filter basket, then removed the drain plug to let the water out. Then I took off the hoses and moved the old pump out of the way. Using channel-lock pliers I loosened the fittings from the old pump and removed them. I dried them off and wrapped 4-6 turns of teflon tape to the threads, then screwed them in hand-tight to the new pump. Placed new pump in position, then reattached hoses and tightened hose clamps. Turned filter back to "Filter", removed plug from skimmer, and let pump basket fill before attaching lid. Turned on pump and checked for leaks.

Old Hayward pump was rusted shut and leaking

Written on 7/18/2017 by Guest

I initially was shopping for a replacement for my Hayward Flowmax pump when I saw this pump recommended at the bottom of the page. I read the veiws and decided to give it a try. If the pump was below average I would get it replaced. I got the pump and installed it after switching the discharge to the side to link up with my D.E. Filter. The process took more time than installing the pump on the base. However after I connected everything I am happy. The old pump leaked and was slow and this pump is powerful and very quiet. I am very pleased.
