Hi Yes this is possible and the correct replacement motor for your pump is this Jacuzzi Magnum 1.5 HP Replacement Motor. You will also need a Jacuzzi Magnum Seal Kit when you replace your motor. I have a carvin pool pump item no. 94027115. It’s about 25 ft. From my pool. I need to match a pool filter. The ingrown day pool is only about 18000 gallons. Can you give me some ideas? I currently have a jacuzzi de filter ew-100. Please advise.
Reply
Hi Rich, The Jacuzzi EW-100 is no longer available and if you are looking to stay with a DE Filter then I would suggest this Hayward DE4820 DE Filter and this Hayward DE4820 2" Multiport Valve. If you want to switch to cartridge then I would suggest this Waterway 150 Sq. Ft. Filter no valve is required with this cartridge filter.

What exactly is the purpose of the Strainer Basket Air Bleed Tube? Should it remain in the strainer basket submerged at all times and does it help reduce air in the pump somehow?
I have been running without it but always noticed a pocket of air at the top of the strainer basket and wonder if this would help?
Reply
The air bleed tube does not remain completely submerged, the top of the tube will actually sit right at the underside of the trap lid where you describe having air bubbles. It is not a critical part of the pump operation. If you are getting air trapped in your strainer housing look for any leaks ion the front of the pump or at the lid when you shut the pump off. You may have a small suction side leak that is pulling air into the trap.

how much pressure should I see, after my filter with, with a Jacuzzi Magnum pump with 11/2 hp motor? sand filter
Reply
Hi. The pressure filter will vary based on several factors including TDH, flow rate, filter size, plumbing size etc.

I have a 20 year old jacuzzi 1mf-s pump. I also have a 75 gpm hayward sand filter. The pump I have has a 1 hp motor that is shot.
My question is, would this 1 1/2 hp pump be to strong or could I just drop this one in?
Reply
If that pump was the original pump that was installed when that filter was also installed then I would recommend keeping it the same. If you want to calculate to see if you can go up in horsepower then you would need to calculate the feet of head of the pool. Please click here to be directed to a guide that may assist you with that.

Hi, Bill. This is a single speed pool pump, we do not have a dual speed version of this pump. However, their is a variable speed version that can be special ordered, the Magnum Force V Series 1.65HP Variable Speed Pump (15VMF-S) - 94026117. The PureLine Prime 2.7 HP Variable Speed Pool Pump - PL2606 is also a suitable option.

Hi, Greg. You will definitely need a larger pump. However, the size of the pump will be based on the number of panels, plumbing size, etc. You can use this Magnum Force Pump 1 1/2 HP Pump if they confirmed it will be sufficient.

My pool pump & motor ran for nearly six hours with multiport valve on closed. I found the motor still running with no water in pump skimmer basket. I opened the lid and water rushed in from pool side. I Set multiflow to filter & turned back on. water began blowing out the band clamp between pump and motor with no pressure register to the filter tank gauge. I lost 3inches of water from pool. Is my pump shot or can it be repaired? What Parts do I get to systematically check out the pump function
Reply
John. I would consider the pump shot because it will be expensive to repair. You may have to replace the drive end which is the parts from the diffuser to the seal housing depending on what went bad.

Is the housing for magnum the same for all horsepower motors. I would like to downgrade from 1.5 to 3/4 horse power. Thanks
Reply
Hi, Frank. The housing is the same on all the different hp. To downsize the pump from 1.5 to 3/4 you'll need to replace the motor, impeller, diffuser, eye seal, and the pump seal and o-rings. Replacing the complete pump model # 94027107 may be cheaper.

Hi,
I have a few questions.
1. Does this 'pump' include the motor, pump housing, impeller, basket, etc.?
2. My bad pump has a sticker that says '2004 Magnum Force 15UTMF-S' (not -S2), motor is two speed, 1.5 HP, Order# 94027215
Is this a standard setup? ( I see you have the 94027115 with this setup)
3. Local chain sold my wife just a motor, STS1152R, it looks compatible, but at $400, I'm wondering if you have the entire setup for a similar price and I can take the motor back.
Thanks

I've been led to believe by many people That Jacuzzi pool supplies are now obsolete! Some sources say it was sold to another provider. How are you able to supply replacements, or were you over stocked?
Is it advisable to go from a 1hp to a 1.5hp

Hello, The company, Carvin, is the only authorized manufacturer of Jacuzzi products. They are currently operating, supplying parts and products globally. We have an excellent blog post, "Can I Go With A Higher Horsepower Pump?", available on our website that will answer all of your questions on upgrading you current pool pump.

I currently have a 15 year old Jacuzzi 15UMF-S Magnum and I was wondering should i go back with the Jacuzzi Magnum or is it worth the extra money to get the Hayward Super Pump? The only reason I am looking around is because my local Pool Place wants almost 600 dollars for a 1.5hp Hayward Pump and that doesn't include install. Thanks!
Reply
Hello, Mike. When replacing the Swimming Pool Pump you will need to take into consideration the output Flow Rate of the pump and the Filter's capabilities of the Maximum Flow Rate of total Gallons Per Minute. The Jacuzzi Magnum chart indicates the Jacuzzi Magnum Pump 1 1/2 HP Pump PART# 94027115 will perform at 72GPM to 50' Resistance to Flow. I would best recommend replacing the pump with the Jacuzzi Magnum Pump 1 1/2 HP Pump. Both pump manufacturers offer great quality products, as I do not know any other information regarding your filtration system it is best to replace it with the same pump. If you would prefer to send us more information in about your system, please send an email to upload@inyopools.com

Hi Michelle, if you would like to replace the motor, you'll need the A.O. Smith 1 HP Round Flange Up Rate Motor (UST1102) and the Jacuzzi Magnum Tune Up Kit (GOKIT14). If you decide to replace the entire pump then the Jacuzzi Magnum Pump 1 HP Pump will be the correct replacement.

How do you change it to 110 volt?
Reply
If you are wiring for 115V, the three wires to the pool pump will be black, white and green. Attach the white wire to terminal 1 of Line 1 (L1). Attach the black wire to terminal 3 of Line 2 (L2). Attach the green wire under the Ground screw (GND). The black plug is shifted in position so the the black wire is attached to terminal 4 Line 2 (L2) and the white wire is attached to terminal 5. Note: in this position the white arrow on top of the 2 prong black plug is pointing at the 115V label.

Pros: Self Priming, Strainer Check Valve and air bleed off tube, quiet operation
Cons: none
Ordering was simple, delivery was quick and on time. Installed as a replacement for a 15+ Year old Jacuzzi Magnum that never missed a beat. The old pump was not winterized correctly otherwise I am sure it would have kept on going, no fault of the pump. I particularly like the way that the new strainer is designed with the check valve and the bleeder tube. Also the unit is for the most part self priming, unlike its older and now dead brother that I unfortunately killed myself.

The new pool pump arrived in a timely manner, worked perfectly, and was easy to install. I upgraded from a 1hp to 1.5hp of the same brand and was pleased with the noticeable difference it made in my filtration system. I highly recommend this company, and the product.
