Can I install this myself?

The Air Relief Assembly can be installed by a homeowner. It requires that you unthread the old one, wrap some teflon tape around the threads of the new valve, and thread it back into place.

Will this valve assembly work on an Aquatec FN/FNS-48 filter?
 Reply

A  Answered on 4/22/2015 by InyoPools Product Specialist Andy O.

Jim, This air relief valve part # 4655-03d would be the valve used on FNS PLUS model. If you have the FNS it would be a part # 4600-3550.

My relief valve is dripping. I have a Purex-Triton Filter model #CC100.. Design flow=100 g.p.m. and 6.5 psi residential. There is a pin number on the tank housing =178555..Do I need to purchase the entire relief valve OR the very small "O" rings inside the valve? I have had this unit since 2000. I do not know if this assembly 998209800 is the correct fit But it sure looks like it! Thanks

Hi Charlie, This would be the correct air relief for the Purex-Triton Clean & Clear CC100 filter. For the CC100 filter I do not show where the small o-ring is sold separately so I would suggest the entire air relief.

First unscrew the old relief valve - turning counterclockwise.

Next screw in the new valve hand tight aiming it away from the equipment.

Turn on filter to check for leaks.

All done!

Air relief valve Leaking

Written on 7/19/2019 by Guest

This was a very easy replacement, and the cheapest replacement I found! We just turned off the breakers, released the air from the air relief valve. We were replacing filter cartridges too, so we took the top off the filter. Unscrewed and removed the old air relief valve, and replaced it with the new one on. We then put some Teflon tape on the screw head of the air pressure gauge, screwed it on hand tight, then used a wrench to tighten it...voila! No more leaks and working very well!

Replacing old relief valve

Written on 7/19/2019 by Guest

Very simple. All one needs is teflon tape and an adjustable wrench. Functions well. Pay particular attention to the orientation of both the gauge (readable location) and the outlet (it will fire water all over that direction) as it is tightened.
