my pump leaks; could it be a bad defuser o ring?

A diffuser o-ring is an internal gasket that would not cause a visible leak on the pump if it failed. A more likely culprit of the leak is either a cracked piece of the housing, bad housing o-ring or shaft seal.

An absolute must to replace this every spring, or when doing a rebuild. Also need to know which pump model you have, because there is also a round gasket, which will not work in my Challenger II pump.
