Tom, Most of the time when you get sand back into the pool it is because of a Cracked Lateral or a Bad Spider Gasket. We have a good article on this topic here: Article on Getting Sand Back in Your Pool.

I am not seeing sand in the pool, i am seeing it on the ground after i back wash.

Possible reasons for sand coming out on the ground after backwashing would be.... Valve problems, the wrong sand, an oversized pump or your sand filled too high in your tank. Your sand should be filled about 3/4 of the way up the tank to account for trapped debris.

where can I buy a new sand filter model T-200BP-1

Hi Diane, I am unaware of anyone who still carries this filter as it has been discontinued by the manufacture for some time now. We would suggest the Jacuzzi Laser 22-1/2" Sand Filter as a replacement.

Hello, I have a Sta-Rite T200BP-1 filter. The operating label came off and I would like a replacement -- It is a 5 port. Do you have any for this model?
Thank you

Hi H, Unfortunately, the decal or label for the original T200BP-1 filter is not available. If you have the original filter valve you will need to replace the Plug & Cover Assy-77704-0104.

the hand valve on top that you push to rotate is leaking. Is there a gasket , I removed the top to see and saw none or do I replace top head.?

Hi, Jerome. You can either replace the entire valve or get the parts to repair it. Check out the Sta-Rite Multiport 1-1/2" WC112 Series Parts Diagram.

Is water suposed to come out the back when the filter is in filter setting ? Should there be a cap on the line of some sort?
Reply
Usually, this is a sign that the spider gasket has failed within the multiport valve. You just need to identify the model valve and advise so we can cross-reference the correct gasket for you. If you are not sure then you can email us images of that valve and filter to upload@inyopools.com so we can further assist.

I have this filter on my pond. It is at least 25 years old. Should I replace it? If so what would be best?

Hi, Dianne. This unit is no longer being manufactured, however, some parts are. If you are able to replace it, then I recommend you do because eventually, it will need to be. The Waterway Carefree 19" Sand Filter - FS01922 is a great option.
