The Hayward DE4800 filter takes 7 of the large grids part # FG1004 and one of the small grid part # PG1904. We do sell a de grid pack here which includes all 8 grids which is listed here on this page as part # PL0188 Thanks!

How do I know if I need to replace grid?

Generally you would replace the grids once there is a tear in the fabric or the plastic on the inside is broken upon visual inspection. You would also be able to tell if you have DE returning into the pool.

Hi John, It would all depends on how clean you keep your pool and if you keep up with the regular maintenance. They can last an average of 2-3 years.

Jandy Del 48 model filter needs to have grids replaced. Do not see Del 48 listed anywhere so I assume there is a replacement number with a grid package that works. Can you help?

Tom,Yes, these are the correct grid set for your DEL48 filter. They won't necessarily say your model filter because these grids fit a wide array of different filters. I hope this helps.

Hello, Don. If you have a DE2420 the girds are 12" height and the PART#FG1002PACK is the replacement needed. If your grids are 24" in height that would indicate the filter model is the DE4820, the replacement grid pack is the PART#PL0188 48 Sq. Ft. Grid Pack (7 Full & 1 Partial).

My filter is a JANDY DEV48sf. I thought I found what I needed to replace the filter grid but reviews mention for their Hayward product and one mentions DEL48sf. Do you sell the TRUE replacement filter grid for my Jandy DEV 48sf? Have purchased other brands that leaked so I want to purchase the right item.

This grid pack is $124.20 for the 48 square foot grid pack which is used on the model Hayward de4820 filter. You can also purchase the complete grid assembly which you can remove the grid assembly and slide this one in as a complete replacement. That part number is 4810-65A.

Can I get a new upper manifold to fit the American Titan Model 584090, 48sqft? Just to be sure. I get a lot of DE in the pool. Is there a special step to seal the grid seat into the manifold?

When it comes time to replace the grids on your D.E. filter it may have been years. In that time key information like owner’s manuals could have been lost. The unit tag information may have become worn and unreadable, making it difficult to determine the size and type you need. Attached is the How To Guide.

I have an old Haywood DE 4800 pool filter. It's going on 18 years old. Each year I've been religious on taking it apart and cleaning it. This year I notice DE leaking back into pool. Based on the age of the filter should I just the replace the filter grids and piece meal it or should I invest in a new filter. I'd hate to replace the grids and come to find out that all the other filter parts begin to fail. Ordering all the replacement parts is more than double a new filter.

I have a higher than normal psi of 33 on my Pentair FNS Plus 48 filter after cleaning all grids, etc. I noticed one grid was ripped and others have broken ribs with loose particles in the grids. Would this be the culprit of my high psi? I have no DE filtering back in pool and my Caretaker in floor is reading a little low at 15psi.

Usually torn grids would not lead to higher than normal pressure, but rather DE getting back in the pool and a lack of filter efficiency. Most filters have a breather tube to automatically purge air trapped at the top of the filter. This tube generally run from just under the top dome to the bottom of the tank. The breather tubes of some of the DE filters are integrated in the top manifold assembly and exit out through the discharge line. Air pressure in the top of the filter tank will build up if these breather tubes become clogged. I would suggest checking that first.
