Do you have the complete pump assembly on this unit? And if you do what is the part number and the price? I seem to not be able to find the complete pump just the motor!

Will this motor be more energy efficient than my original Polaris Booster pump motor? And if so, is it possible to quantify by how much?
I already got a variable speed pool pump installed. So now I was looking to get more energy efficient with other pool related equipment.
Reply
Brian,No, this motor is not considered energy efficient. Unfortunately, there is only one motor that will fit the Polaris Booster pump.

My booster 7-173840-23 is making a high squealing. Noise like the bearing is going out. Is there bearing inside or what is making that high pitch noise
Reply
Mr. Singh,Yes, there are bearings inside your motor. Typically, once the motor starts making screeching noises, it's an indication of a leak towards your shaft seal. Once the water reaches the motor, the screeching starts.

I keep blowing start capacitors. What is the correct size for a b625 Polaris pump?
Reply
Hi Richard, This motor uses the 124-149 Mfd 125v Capacitor (BC-124). If it keeps blowing the capacitors then the motor will need to be replaced.

What is the difference between the B625 and the (B625) 3262-18?
Reply
Hi Brent, The p/n are the same. However if you were meaning to find out the difference between the B121 and B625, the B121 has a "keyed" shaft which requires the Shaft Extension (150) and the B625 does not. The B625 has a threaded shaft.

My motor is making screeching noises, an indication of a leak towards your shaft seal. Once the water reaches the motor, the screeching starts. Can I stop the screeching or do I have to replace the motor?
Reply
Good afternoon Terry,Yes once the motor gets wet it needs to be replaced. The part number for the shaft seal that you'll need to order with the new pump is going to be 3262-04.

After i replace the polaris booster pump and motor, do i need to cover this unit? If so
Do you sell a cover for the unit?

Hi Terry, You can use the Protective Pool Motor Cover to protect your motor.

Is a B265 motor the correct replacement of a 7-193794-50 A.O. Smith motor? The label on the pump lists the frame size as Y56Y. 3/4 hp,SF1.50, 3450 rpm, volts 230/115, amps SF 6.4/12.8.

booster pump on polaris went out. pump says pb4 booster pump. Is that the same as a pb4-60?
Reply
Yes, the model number corresponds with the PB4-60 Zodiac Booster Pump.
Reply
PB4-60 stopped working. Just hums when turned on. Replaced capacitor on top of motor but no change. Pump spins freely. Voltage to motor good (240), motor resistance 6.5ohms and not grounded. Is there another capacitor inside back of motor?
Reply
Hi Bill, This motor only has a start capacitor which is located on the top of the motor. There is no other capacitor inside of the motor.

I Sept 2016 and last weekend it shorted out following a heavy rain then freezing conditions. Was there a guarantee of any sort on the pump, which may be redeemable?
Reply
Good afternoon Kevin, The motor has a one year warranty. I was able to pull up your account information and start the warranty process. You will receive an email with instructions. I will need photos of the motor. Top label, side label and flange/shaft.

Does the motor include the capacitor? Or is that a separate purchase?
Reply
The Motor Polaris Threaded Shaft .75hp (b625) includes the capacitor.

On the a.o. Smith b625 what is the correct wiring as it has an L2 and an L6. Using 220
Reply
Hello Scott- The wiring diagram is on the label of the motor. Since you are using 230v you would use the high voltage wiring diagram. According to that label, it shows you would connect 1 of your hots to line 1 and the other to line 2 and as always ground on green.

I purchased this motor (B625) recently to replace my current one which is screaming like a banshee. What else do I need to install this motor (seals, o-rings, impeller?). P/N is 0-173840-23, S/N is 35717CH. Thanks!

Hey Brad, with any motor replacement we suggest replacing the seals and gaskets in your pump. This will help to prevent water intrusion and extend the life of your new motor. The seals are specific to the wet-end of the pump and we will need that model information to identify what they are. The impeller rarely needs to be replaced unless your unit is over 10 years old, or there is visible damage to the impeller.

Does that come with the motor or do I need to order one & what is the o-ring P/N?

When replacing the motor on the booster pump we would recommend the Polaris Booster Pump Shaft Seal 5/8" - P55 and O-ring, Bracket To Volute (258). These do not come with the motor.

Hi Thomas, The B625 replacement motor is the correct replacement motor for your pool vac motor shown in your photo. You will also need a Seal Kit when you replace your motor and the two most common pumps that use the B625 are the Polaris Booster Pump and the Letro Booster Pump. If you have the Polaris Booster Pump then you will require this Polaris Seal Kit and if you have a Letro then you will require this Letro Seal Kit. We have also put together this Video on How to Replace a Booster Pump Motor which you may find helpful when you tackle this project.

Trying to replace an old A.O. Smith 3/4 h.p. motor and a leaky Volute or Vacuum pump for a Polaris pool cleaner. Do I need the model number off the old Smith and whatever the model number is off the vacuum pump in front. System is about 17 years old and it's been a good one, except once the bearings needed repacking about 6 years ago? I would like something, a motor and a vac pump, that would out last me at 71 years of age and going down hill fast, as a roll of t.p. toward the end unwinds fast.
