The o-ring that goes on the in/out ports of the multiport valve that connects the valve to the bulkhead of the filter tank is p/n SX200Z4

Hi. The handle on my Hayward Vari-flow SP0715XR50 just broke off of the Key and Stem assembly inside the sealed valve. Is it possible to just replace the Key and Stem assembly? And if so, which gaskets etc should I also replace during this repair? Thanks for your time and expert advice.

I need to replace a Hayward SP-715 Vari-Flo Multiport valve after 42 years of service because of leaks. It is a side mount. My filter is a Baker-Hydro HRV 27 sand filter. Will the 4810-44A filter be the correct replacement for the old filter?

Hi, David Seibert. This SP0715XR50 valve is not compatible Baker-Hydro HRV 27 filter, you will need the SP0715ALL model valve.

The pool slowly drains. The only thing I can think of is the multi valve is allowing water to pass by. I have replaced the spider gasket and it did not fix the leak. I am thinking of replacing the entire SP715XR50 assembly. Before I do that is there a different part I should try to replace in the valve? Should I try replacing the gasket again? I super glued the gasket, the old one looked to be in good condition. Looking for any other options before I unnecessarily replace the entire valve.

A pool will naturally loose approximately an inch to an inch and a half of water per week in a dryer climate due to evaporation, but there are many reasons as to what can cause a leak other than that. If you have checked all of your return jets, skimmer, and equipment for bad seals or parts then you may want to have a leak detection team come to inspect your pool and system.

I just need the top to this unit, because the handle just won't turn. It;s old and the plastic while o-ring inside has broken so it won't turn. I was thinking just to replace the entire top part with the handle included. Can I get just that piece?

I have a hayward vari flo valve. Thought the part # was: SP715XR50 I see on your site a SPO715XR50 Is this the same or what is the difference?

Hi David, so the Hayward Vari Flo multiport model number SP715XR50 and model number SPO715XR50 are actually the same. Many of these pool products have multiple alternate part numbers.

I have a Hayward Vari-flo valve (model number SP715XR50), for my inground pool. Today, the handle that normally allows me to switch between FILTRATION, RINSE, RECIRCULATION, BACKWASH, CLOSED AND WASTE locked up while it was set to RECIRCULATION. Do you know what might be causing the valve to seize? And what do you recommend I do to resolve the problem?

Hello Jordan, most often the cause of what you are describing is due to a failed spider gasket within the valve. Yours would be part number 4701-10. You will need an adhesive to set the new gasket in place as well. We recommend using clear RTV silicone. Here is a guide that we put together for replacing the spider gasket as well which should offer some guidance.
