Mike, The you can use SP715 Multiport Valve O-Ring Kit w/ Spring or SP715 Multiport Valve O-Ring Kit w/o Spring tune up kits for the Hayward Variflo SP715XR50 Valve.

Hi. The handle on my Hayward Vari-flow SP0715XR50 just broke off of the Key and Stem assembly inside the sealed valve. Is it possible to just replace the Key and Stem assembly? And if so, which gaskets etc should I also replace during this repair? Thanks for your time and expert advice.

Hi Chris, You can replace the Key, Cover & Handle Assembly-SPX0715BA3 along with the Spider Gasket-SPX0715D and Cover O-ring-SPX715Z1.

OEM direct replacement of 20 year old 715XR50. No problems with the install. I did not have to repipe the filter.

no instructions came with the product on how to use this product such as always turning the handle c wise , or it will damage the gasket, if turning counter clock wise, or turning while pump is running.i am sure this is not your doing as the manufacture should have included that in the box.

Pros: Does the job.
Cons: Bad design on spacing of connections.
Replacement for a 1.5 inch model I had. My problem with the 2" is that there are very few ways to put it together with unions. There is not enough space between the supply and return to fit a union in it. Therefore you must screw in at least one of the fittings and permanently glue in the pipe. This makes any correction (for example a slight leak because it needs an additional 1/8 turn) very difficult.
