I purchased a used pool and need to replace some of the parts. Will these parts fit any pool?

I have an older 24' round Esther Williams pool. I am replacing the liner and would like to replace the bottom rail while I am at it to ensure that it is round. Can I replace the rail with another manufacturer's product? I assume it is acceptable to use a steel rail with an aluminum wall. I just want to get a few more years out of it so I am not concerned about corrosion. I just want to get it round during set-up.
