Does this part have a spring-loaded gasket or have you changed from the spring loaded gasket to the brass.

The impeller does not come with a spring loaded gasket. The part you are referring to is called the pump/shaft seal. It is a 2 part seal that protects the motor from water damage. It is recommended that you change the pump/shaft seal every time you change the motor. You can identify the correct seal you will need by matching the pump make and model and the corresponding parts list.

On a super 2 with a 1 hp motor can I use a spx 3010 Impeller, instead of a spx 3007c ??? If not, why not??

Hi, Robert. If you're using a 1.0 HP up rated motor, you cannot use the SPX3010C impeller. That is because the load that it will be placed on the 1.0 HP up rated motor since it is larger. That is not the case if you're using a 1.0 HP full rated motor.

On model SP3007x10 up rated, does impeller SPX3007C require an impeller ring for diffuser SPX3000BN? Thank you!

Based on the impeller and diffuser part numbers, you have a Hayward Super II pool pump which will require impeller ring part number 5110-23 that you can view by clicking here

How can you tell is your impeller has gone bad?
 Reply

A  Answered on 10/28/2020 by Industry Professional

The normal things that would cause an impeller to not work correctly would be wither its jammed with debris, the diffuser it works with is damaged, or the threads where the motor shaft screw in are bad.
