I have a 1.5 hp a.o. smith and I want to replace the impeller 2610c with a 3016c. Is that acceptable?

Hello, those two impellers are not compatible; they fit two different pump series. The SP2610C fits the Hayward Super Pump and the SP3016C fits the Hayward Super II

4 years ago I ordered a B2979 2-speed pump motor. I have been getting a lot of turbulence and noise from the pump. Took it apart and see the impeller I have is a sp3016-C. This seems like it may be undersized for this motor. What is the correct fitting for a B2979.

The correct unit that will be needed is Impeller / Diffuser / Upgrade Kit - SPX3020CKIT.

I changed out this impeller, but my pump is still not getting water flow so motor over heats and shuts down, what could be causing this? the impeller is spinning freely, there is no audible noise from motor.

Good Morning- It sounds like the pump is not priming sufficiently. Take a look at our helpful video on How To Determine Why a Pool Pump Won't Prime.

I need to replace the impeller for my Hayward Super 2 (SP3015X20AZ). The one I pulled off is a SP3016-C, but your chart shows that I need a SP3015-C of the SP3015X20AZ. The dimensions on these 2 are very different. If I should switch back to the SP3015-C, it looks like the impeller ring I pulled of mine won't fit, is that correct? Thanks in advance.

Easy installation. Took about an hour remove housing etc. I replaced all parts because I had to replace housing so installed all new parts.
