Looking for a replacement sight glass (glass NOT plastic) for a Hayward Pro Series Sand Filter Model#S244T. Do you have this part? Thanks

This is the part number that matches to the site glass for that Multi-port valve. SPX0710MA I know that it once was glass, but I believe they have now switched to plastic. To be 100% sure, may I suggest giving Hayward Tech a call at 908-355-7995.

The sight glass does not fill with water when filtering. It does when backwashing. It always used to fill when running...

Hi Jim, The sight glass is only filled with water when in "Backwash" mode.

I have an old Haywood SP715 and the sight glass is much shorter than shown here. Cannot install a long sight glass due to interference with the coupling nut of main line. Is the short sight glass still available?

Hi, Unfortunately, this is the current sight glass used on all Hayward multiport valve.

I am looking for a sight glass with a screw in the middle of it

Hi Tim, We will need to know the model  of the valve that you have in order to locate the correct sight glass. The current slight glasses does not have  a screw but threads.

Losing sand when backwashing, found gasket half way in the sight glass, where exactly does the gasket go, can you show a pic please ?

Here is an example of where the gasket is located.
