Hello Donald. Unfortunately, part number C48K27143B1 ( possibly C48K2N143B1 ? 1.0 HP Up Rate Motor ) does not cross-reference to a Hayward Pool Pump or Motor. The Hayward Super Pump VS Motor Upgrade Kit MKIT3VS16 is compatible with the Hayward Super Pump 1.0 HP models. The Kit contains all the parts necessary to complete the upgrade. Hello Tim. The MKIT3VS16 is not compatible with the Hayward TriStar Pool Pump. To upgrade to a variable speed motor/drive, the V-Green 1.65 HP Square Flange 48Y Variable Speed Motor - ECM16SQU and Tune Up Kit Hayward TriStar/EcoStar - GOKIT81 would be required. The current impeller can be utilized with the ECM16SQU as it is rated for 1.4 horsepower. Attached please find the Hayward TriStar SP3200X Series Pump exploded parts diagram for reference.

I see the voltage rating on these motors is 208-230 VAC. Incoming residential voltage around here is typically 240 VAC. Mine measures 247 VAC on a Hayward Super pump while it is running. Will 247 VAC be too high for the motor or the controller in the MKIT3VS16?

Hello James. The operating characteristics defined in NEMA Standard MG-1 are coded onto the motor nameplate indicating the operating voltage required for optimal performance as intended by the manufacturer. Electric motors are typically designed with a 10% tolerance for voltage above and below the rated nameplate value. A motor with a rated nameplate voltage of 230V can work within the range of 207V to 253V. When a motor is rated at 208/230 volts this means the motor will operate at the 208V rating, not 10% under the 208V rating.

I tried to order this upgrade motor for my super pump, but V-Green VS Motor instead, so I cancelled the order. I want the Hayward because I like that it has an internal clock and day by day timer for the programming, which the V-Green doesn't. Also I know that the Hayward will fit in my layout. Do you actually sell the Hayward motor, and if so, how do I buy it?

My present motor is wired into a 240V mechanical Intermatic timer. The power feed to this new motor would need to bypass the timer, correct?

The V-Green 1.65 HP Variable Speed Motor - ECM16SQU is a compatible motor replacement for the SPX2710Z1M motor on the SP2310X15 MaxFlo XL pump. The Pump Shaft Seal Seal Plate o-ring Diffuser o-ring should be replaced concurrent with the new motor. Attached please find the Hayward MaxFlo XL SP2300X Series exploded parts diagram for reference.

Is this pump a replacement for a 1.5 HP Superpump that powers my spa (and is too strong most of the time)? Can it be automated with my Jandy iAqualink controls to change speeds (so the normal filtration/SWG operation can be slow but the heating fast)?

Automation Adapter Kit Installation Manual and User’s Guide Please note pages 14-18, Wiring/Operating the Adapter. The Adapter is limited in its ability to adjust motor speeds. For a broader range of flexibility, a Jandy VS Pump would be recommended.

It is recommended that the Face Plate Gasket - 711-1400, Pump Shaft Seal 5/8" - PS-1000, and the Diffuser O-ring - 805-0238 be replaced concurrent with the new motor.

Hello Nick, the variable speed motor option for your motor model c48k2n143b1 is the ECM16CU. It is also recommended to replace the seals and gaskets when replacing a pool pump motor. For your Hayward Super Pump the seal kit for a standard chlorine swimming pool is the GOKIT3 and for a saltwater pool it is the GOKIT3SALT.
