Is this compatible as a replacement motor for the Jandy Stealth Series Pumps, model JHP 1.5 Thanks you very much
 Reply

A  Answered on 2/10/2019 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

Hi Deniet, Unfortunately this will not work as a replacement for the JHP1.5 as that motor is a full rate motor and this is an up rate motor. A full rate motor has a higher service factor giving the motor a higher total HP then an up rate motor. Here is an example which may explain this better... (Up Rate 1.5 HP) 1.5 HP x 1.0 Service Factor = 1.5 True HP... (Full Rate 1.5 HP) 1.5 HP x 1.3 Service Factor = 1.95 True HP. If you used the PL1116 motor then it would not be powerful enough to power your 1.95 HP impeller. My suggestion would be this 2.7 HP Variable Speed Motor

Is this motor a direct replacement for ST1102, CET40ABM, 1 HP, SF 1.5, single speed motor? Can I wire it with just two hot wires and a ground (no neutral)? Also, I currently have an offline chlorine feeder--will that work at a low flow rate? Thanks.

 Reply

A  Answered on 3/11/2019 by InyoPools Product Specialist Hector F.

Yes, this is a direct variable speed replacement motor and uses three wires as it is set up for 230 volts. 2 hots and a ground. This meets the strength of your previous motor so flow should not be an issue.

I have a dying 1.5 HP Super II pump. Its connected to an Goldline Aqua Logic controller. I'd like to replace it with a variable speed motor compatible with the Aqua Logic. Is that possible?
 Reply

A  Answered on 4/12/2019 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

Hi Gael, The PL1116 would work as a variable speed replacement motor for your 1.5 HP Hayward Super II. You would do all of the initial programmings directly on the onboard controller on the PL1116, for example, you would set RPM's and for how long you want the pump to run at certain RPM's. You would not have the ability to program the motor from your AquaLogic or change speeds directly with the AquaLogic. Your AquaLogic would simply turn the PL1116 on and off at the desired times you set within your AquaLogic and then the programming you set directly within the PL1116 would take over from there. I hope that helps.

Hi David, After reviewing the $275 ComEd Rebate application here https://www.comed.com/WaysToSave/ForYourHome/Documents/PoolPumpRebateApplication.pdf the rebate is for complete swimming pool pumps and this item would be considered just a replacement motor. According to the application the pumps need to be Energy Star Certified variable speed pumps, we have several PureLine Variable Speed Pumps that are Energy Star Certified and meet these criteria. The PL2515, PL2516, PL2605, and PL2606 you can view these pumps here PureLine Variable Speed Pool Pumps One note about the application, it says the buyer must show that they have paid IL sales tax or use tax. We do not charge IL sales tax so you would need to fill out a use tax form and pay the IL use tax to get your rebate.

I have a B128 56J Century motor that I need to replace. I have a saltwater pool. Additionally, I have a Polaris PB4-60 Booster pump. I need to know which variable speed replacement motor will also be able to hook up to the booster pump. Both are 220v. I just don't want the Booster pump turning on accidentally when the main pump isn't providing adequate flow. One more thing... does it make any sense to replace the motor with a more powerful motor (going from 1.5 hp to 2.5 hp)? Thank you!
 Reply

A  Answered on 5/29/2019 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

Hi Bradley, the PL1116 will work as a variable speed replacement motor for your B128. For the PB460 Booster Pump, there is not a variable speed option for a pool cleaner booster pump. If you need to replace the motor on your booster pump then you will need this B625 Booster Pump Replacement Motor We would not suggest going up to 2.5 HP and would suggest staying with 1.5 HP as long as you have been happy with your flow. We do suggest a seal kit when replacing your motor, to determine which kit you need we would need to know the pump information for the pump the B128 is being used on as well as if the PB460 is from before or after 2011.

Thank you. I've seen in the VS motor docs (ECM27U) that you can wire a 230v booster pump off the motor and have the booster pump controlled by the VS software (only turning it on when the flow is fast enough). The PB4-60 is brand new. Basically, I need to find a VS pump motor replacement for my old Century b128 M56J (pic) that can also control the booster pump.

VGreen270 is equipped with one Aux relay.  The aux relay can be used for a booster pump, salt chlorine generator, or any other piece of equipment and is rated for up to 13amps.  Your customer could replace their B128 with ECM27CU and use the aux relay to also control their booster pump.
