I recently changed my pool motor and gaskets. I made sure to lubricate all the gaskets with vaseline. A few days later water is leaking from the pump. What did I do wrong? Help please!!

You never want to use vaseline on any rubber gaskets or o-rings. Vaseline is petroleum based and will deteriorate the rubber quickly. Whenever you change the motor on a pool pump it is recommended that you replace the gaskets and shaft seal as well. A >Go-kit contains the shaft seal, packet of non-petroleum based lubricant and gaskets you will need for your pump. If you already have the gaskets, you can purchase >Magic Lube.

The seal kit can help with loss of prime. I can't guarantee that it will solve your problem. The loss of prime could be from an air leak at the valves or plumbing in front of the pump.

Dave - A noisy pump is usually a sign that your pump's motor bearings are going. Most pool owners replace the pump's motor at this stage. A tuneup kit will not solve this problem. You could also pull the motor out and check the impeller. If it is damaged, it could be rubbing on the side of the pump housing.

Assuming that the leak is coming from one of the pump seals or gaskets then yes the kit will solve the issue. However, if the leak is coming from a warped or damaged pump housing part or even a pvc fitting attached to the pump then the kit will not resolve the issue.

I have a sp2605x7 super pump 3/4 hp. I have just started noticing a very little bit of air bubbles in my pool. I changed the gasket for the site glass. Air would only be getting into the system from the pump housing back to the pool. Best to check the pump lid. 2nd, the small leak is more than likely caused by a faulty shaft seal.

It is very likely that the bearings on the motor are starting to seize up. You have the option of replacing the bearings or I would recommend that you replace the motor with Century 1.5 HP Round Flange Up Rate Motor (C48L2N134) Formerly A.O. Smith - UST1152.

I believe that you meant to type a 4 in the place of the first k and if so the motor replacement is a UST1102 and the gokit3 is the correct seal kit. Also if you have a salt water pool then the gokit3salt would be best for you.

If you have been happy with your flow then we would suggest staying with 1 HP as it will cost less to operate. If you flow seems to be too low then you could upgrade to 1.5 HP but you will also need to replace your 1 HP impeller with a 1.5 HP impeller.

That squealing noise is due to your bearings going bad. The bearings can be quite difficult to replace, so we would suggest the UST1252 2.5 HP Replacement Motor along with the Hayward Super II Seal Kit.

My Hayward Superpump has developed a small leak between the motor and the skimmer basket housing. I tried relubricating the diffuser gasket but it hasn't made much difference. The SP-1605-Z1-M refers to the motor only. We will require the model of the pump, the model number is located on the front housing that the motor is installed to. The correct gasket kit is either the GOKIT3 or the GOKIT3SALT. We use authentic, Aladdin parts. Most of the kits are shipped in blister packs, but if there are no blister packed GOKITs available then the individual gaskets are picked and shipped together. These are the same seals as you would find in the blister pack.

Sometimes the shaft seal can get compromised upon installation, the other seals may not be sitting correctly or even some of the plastic pump parts could have damage such as a hairline crack or even be warped. You can view our "How to replace the motor on your pool pump" guide here that may assist. Other than that you may want to inspect all parts and make sure the seals besides the shaft seal are lubricated as well.

I have a Hayward 1hp super pump model C48K2N143B1 and it also has this number SP-1607-Z1-M. This is leaking on the bottom on shut off. Is this from the shaft seal? If so, Which shaft seal kit do I need?

It is difficult to figure out exactly why it is leaking, but there is a good chance that it is one of your seals. So switching out all your seals with new ones might be a good place to start. GoKit3 is the correct tune-up kit for your Super Pump.

I ordered GOKIT3 together with a new pump. Is the lubricant only used on gasket, I shouldn't apply them to shaft seal, correct?

My 1 1/2 hp Hayward pump is leaking a small amount of water from underneath the pump. I just watched your video about replacement of the shaft pump and would like to order a replacement seal kit. I’m thinking the go kit 3 would work, but thought I’d go ahead and send in a couple of photos so you could confirm this.

Hello Scott. The Aladdin Tune Up Kit, GOKIT3, Hayward Super Pump is specific to the Hayward Super Pump pool pump, not the motor model UST1102. The Century Motor model UST1102 is a compatible replacement motor for the Hayward Super Pump. If the pump is a Hayward Super Pump the GOKIT3 would be the correct Tune Up Kit. Hello Brandee. The GOKIT3 is the Tune UP Kit specific to the Hayward Super Pump and is compatible with the Century Motors model UST1102. A GOKIT is specific to the manufacturer of the pump, not the motor. If your pool pump is a Hayward Super Pump, the GOKIT3 is the correct selection.

I am replacing a Hayward 1 HP pump with a Century 1 HP pump. I purchased the Century from you a few years ago, but we got the Hayward to last a little longer. I have your Go Kit, and am having difficulty getting the spring seal part onto the impeller shaft. I think I have cracked the black ceramic piece on the end. (Photos attached.) I would like to just replace this spring seal part, so can I buy that from you, or do I need to buy another entire Go Kit? The Go Kit I have is Go-KIT3V-12. Thanks
