My pump is not priming even after cleaning impeller. Will purchasing this kit aid in fixing that problem?

The seal kit can help with loss of prime. I can't guarantee that it will solve your problem. The loss of prime could be from an air leak at the valves or plumbing in front of the pump.

I purchased new motor, and tune up kit from your company when assembled there is a leak at bottom of pump where it meets motor. I went to pool supply store and purchased an other new shaft seal and I still have a leak at bottom of pump. What else can be the problem?

Hello Karl, The six features of a Multiport Valve include Filter, Waste, Closed, Backwash, Recirculate, and Rinse. Each has a specific function depending on if you have a Sand or D.E. filter.

Hi Bill, This kit will not fit the SP740DE valve. There is not a kit available for this valve, you will have to purchase the parts individually which all can be found via the Hayward Multiport SP740DE 2" Parts page.

Gary, If it is a Hayward valve, it should have a model number that begins with "SP". Can you please confirm the model number?

My pool is losing water thru the waste line leading to street when filter is running. If I replace the valves' spider gasket & O-ring will this fix my problem? Was looking to purchase the APCK1034 kit.

Yes, if it is leaking out of the ports of the multiport valve then the spider gasket is what you want to replace. What is the valve part number so I can recommend the correct spider gasket.

Leaking water through the top of the value where the handle is connected to the value.

More than likely the washers and small o-rings in this kit are what you will need to replace to stop the leak.

I have a Hayward Pro Series High Rate Sand Filter Model S-310-S with a SP715x62 2"Vari Control Valve Assembly with guage. I have sand in our inground pool and wonder if this could be caused by a bad spider gasket? I notice some water accumulation at the top of the valve. Earlier this year, I replaced the the bottom elbow assembly and the the lateral holder assembly and replaced the sand.

Yes, this could be caused by a bad spider gasket or by bad parts within the filter. I.e. the laterals. It may be time for a good inspection of the internal parts of the filter if you replace that gasket and still, and sand is returned to the pool.

I am looking at ordering a tune up kit for SP-715x62. Is the silicone that comes with the tune up kit enough for the spider valve or do I need to order the tube of silicone?

Hi, Larry. The tube that is included will be enough to lubricate all of the seals. You can also purchase another tube of Magic Lube to have some on hand. You will also need to get the Adhesive if you don't have any.

I purchased a SP715X62 2" vari control valve spider gasket and am ready to install. I noticed in your video that some spider gaskets require locktite but mine came with silicone and e6000. Does the e6000 go under the gasket like glue and the silicone on top of the gasket. Your video states that some spider gaskets work with locktite.

There is no gasket kit for the SP710, as you can see on the: Hayward Multiport Vari-Flow 1-1/2" SP-710X, SP-712, SP-711 1976-Current

Hi Sam, this tune-up kit is compatible with the Hayward SP716 model multiport valve and will have the cover o ring that most often the cause of this leak.
