If my voltage to my Hayward superpump is 243 after the timer, is that too much for this 230 motor? Have you ever heard of this being a problem?

A     Answered on 7/6/2018 by InyoPools Product Specialist Lennox H.

Hi, Lisa. That is not too much, the motor can operate at 10% above the rated voltage which is 253. However, it can cause the motor to run hotter/higher amps at the higher voltage and will shorten the life of the motor over time

18x36 inground pool. Purex Nautilus 36 DE filter which will handle 72 gallons per minute. My pool is about 27000 gals. Feet of head is difficult to estimate but I think about 50. Will a Hayward 2607 1 hp meet my needs? A pool tech told me it would. I need an answer ASAP because the pool company will replace with a 2610 1.5 hp if needed. There are no fountains or accessories and just one skimmer. I run my Polaris with a separate booster pump. Thanks

A     Answered on 6/14/2018 by InyoPools Product Specialist Lennox H.

Hi, Gerald. With 50 feet of head using the SP2607X10 pump, your flow rate will be about 50 GPM. This pump will turn over your pool is approximately 9 hours. So it will be sufficient for your pool. The SP2610X15 will also be sufficient with approximately 65 GPM.

I have a question about replacing my 1 hp hayward pump with a pureline. Since the pureline has 2" conns., if I use a 2"m X 1 1/2"f reducer bushing, will that change the alignment of the union elbow from the pump to the filter? i still want to use the EC-65 base. Thanks!

A     Answered on 4/20/2018 by InyoPools Product Specialist Alex V.

Vinny, Using reducers should not affect the alignment of the plumbing. The Pureline Prime and Super Pump housing are similar in dimension. The only difference is the female threaded port size on the pump.

I am going to need to replace my Hayward SP2807X10 pump. Is the Hayward SP2607X10 a comparable pump for a replacement?

A     Answered on 4/9/2018 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

Hi Gene, The SP2607X10 a comparable pump for replacing your SP2807X10. However, we would suggest the PL2601 PureLine Prime 1 HP as a replacement, the reason being is that we found the PureLine to be extremely reliable and the price is actually less than the Hayward.

What is the replacement Super Pump for the Hayward SP1607Z1M 3/4 Super Pump ? I have had this pump for less than three years and the motor seized up and has to be replaced. I cannot find any replacements models for this motor, in fact when i enter the model number in the compatible model box it tells me that model number is not found. What gives ?

A     Answered on 5/28/2017 by InyoPools Product Specialist Hector F.

Based on the model number that you have provided this ia a 1 horse power. That Super pump model is SP2607X10. It is possible that you have a 3/4 hp full rated version which is equivalent to this one horse up rated version. Also here is the 3/4 horse power Super pump SP2605X7 but remember that technically this version is a different model hence having less horse power then the model number that you have provided.

how do you remove the pump from the shaft on the motor

A     Answered on 11/1/2016 by InyoPools Product Specialist Scott W.

If it is a Super Pump then the ceramic part you will wedge out with a flat head screwdriver and the spring part of the shaft seal is pulled off of the impeller. Make sure the little rubber washer gets taken off of the impeller as well otherwise the new shaft seal will not slide on to the impeller all the way and it will leak.

I am getting ready to install a 14x28 foot in ground pool (around 15,000 gallons). The pump is a 1.5 hp with a flow rate of 88 gpm. I need a flow rate of 32 gpm to filter in 8 hrs. The max flow on my 24" filter is 45 gpm. I have 45 feet of head. Based on that a 1 hp pump would supply 50 gpm. Do I really need the 1.5 hp pump? At 42 feet of head it still pumps at 67 GPM. Isn't that to high?

A     Answered on 3/29/2016 by InyoPools Product Specialist Scott W.

The 1 HP would work just fine for that size of pool. You definitely need a 1.5 HP though if you start adding features such as, a fountain, a spa, solar heat pump, pool cleaner. Adding any of these features will require more horsepower since the flow rate will be divided up by each addition feature.

Hi Sandy, This pump can be placed outside exposed to the weather, however it will affect the life span of the pump. The less exposed it is the longer it will last.

How many hours per day should I run my pump?

A     Answered on 10/8/2013 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

There are many factors to consider; bather load, gallons of water, pump horsepower, type and size of filter just to name a few. A good guideline is 8-10 hours a day. On the cooler days and early and late season, you can cut the run time down to 4-6 hours because there is usually less swimmers and cooler water requires less chemicals. In peak season, when it is the hottest, raising the run time to 10-12 hours per day will help to keep the pool clean and circulating during it’s time of heaviest use.

Old pump was smoking

Written on 5/22/2018 by Guest

My old pump was smoking. It was very rusted and I needed to replace the motor. I searched the internet and found the best value with INYO. I had just ordered a new filter (old one cracked when it rains it pours) and was very satisfied with INYOPools service. I took a picture of the wiring before disconnecting the old pump to insure I was able to install the new pump correctly. The new pump was delivered in just 2 days and works great. The screws to remove the back cover of the old pump were rusted and very difficult to remove. I put some grease on the screws of the new pump and covered them with duct tape to avoid this in the future.
