Part # GOKIT54

Alternate Part #'s 62054, GO KIT 54, PL1054, AEQGOKIT54, APCK1051

Product Description

INYOpools highly recommends replacing the shaft seal, o-rings and gaskets when replacing your motor, if you use your old shaft seal it will not mate up properly with the new pump and may leak. The best value is to go with one of INYO's tune up kits which include the shaft seal and all O-rings, gaskets and lubricant for your pump.

This Tune Up Kit Works on These Pumps:

  • All Sta-Rite Dura-Glas & Max-E-Glas 1/2 HP - 3 HP single and dual speed models.
  • All Sta-Rite P2R & PE Series Pumps 1/2 HP - 3 HP single and dual speed models.
  • Note: Sta-Rite Dura-Glas II and Max-E-Glas II pumps use GOKIT38

Tune Up Kit Includes:

  • Motor Shaft Seal
  • Housing O-Ring
  • Diffuser O-Ring
  • Gasket
  • Lubricant

I recently changed my pool motor and gaskets. I made sure to lubricate all the gaskets with vaseline. A few days later water is leaking from the pump. What did I do wrong? Help please!!

You never want to use vaseline on any rubber gaskets or o-rings. Vaseline is petroleum based and will deteriorate the rubber quickly. Whenever you change the motor on a pool pump it is recommended that you replace the gaskets and shaft seal as well. A >Go-kit contains the shaft seal, packet of non-petroleum based lubricant and gaskets you will need for your pump. If you already have the gaskets, you can purchase >Magic Lube.

My pump is not priming even after cleaning impeller. Will purchasing this kit aid in fixing that problem?

The seal kit can help with loss of prime. I can't guarantee that it will solve your problem. The loss of prime could be from an air leak at the valves or plumbing in front of the pump.

Hello Rick - It sounds like the motor bearings are beginning to fail. The motor will eventually seize up and need to be replaced.

How do I tell if my pump is pre-1998 or 1998 to present? Thanks.

Bob, If you have the serial number for your pump you can call Pentair at 1.800.831.7133 and they can tell you when your pump is manufactured. You can also take the pump apart and look at your seal plate, if your seal plate has that copper insert you have the pre-1998 model.

I have a DURA-GLAS H/L Pump. Which Kit will work to replace all the seals?

Hi Gil, If your pump has a Copper Seal Insert you will need the Sta Rite Dura Glas & Max E Glas Pump Pre 1998 Tune Up Kit. If you it does not have one the Sta Rite Dura Glas & Max E Glas Pump 1998 To Present Tune Up Kit would be the correct kit.

the old motor was noise

Written on 7/14/2021 by Guest

replaced the old motor with the one suggested by INYOPOOLS. I also used this opportunity to replace o-rings and the spring-loaded ring come with this kit. After seeing leak, I disassembled the motor from the pump. and found that the spring-loaded ring of the kit was bigger than the one replaced, and damaged the seal plate(some plastic melted around the shaft hole). Now I am shopping for a seal plate

WATER LEAKING

Honestly, I followed the steps from a video that you guys have. It was pretty easy. I only replaced the seal on the plug, and the seal plate. For the plug, all you do it twist it off and put the o-ring on and twist it back on the pump. The gasket between the pump body and the seal plate was easy as well. I unscrewed the 4 bolts on the seal plate with a socket wrench, and replaced the gasket, then screwed back on the bolts!

Old seals needed to be replaced

Written on 7/16/2020 by Guest

Used the new seals when replacing my pump. The kit comes complete with more parts than I actually ended up using. One word of caution is, the lube that comes in the kit is very good for the o-rings and gaskets, in that it is more of a silicone glue than lube. Do NOT use it on the O-ring on the pump filter basket lid; it acts similar to loc-tite. That is, you will have fun trying to get the lid loose without breaking it.

Pump motor replacement

Written on 11/21/2017 by Guest

I used this tune-up kit in order to replace my pump motor. I didn’t need to use the large square gasket because I only replaced the motor and not the actual water pump/strainer basket housing.
Make sure any seal you replace is lubricated as per instructions and don’t skimp when it come to how much you use. The other point I would make is to thoroughly clean all surfaces where a seal is to be placed.
I had good luck with my motor replacement! Everything has remained dry. Not even a drip!
