I have a Pentair 340038 that has a 1HP motor 196238 mated to it. my system is only running at 10 psi and I would like to increase it to clean my pool more effectively. will this 2HP pump fit?

Hi, Matthew. A filtration system running at 10 PSI is okay. In order to increase the pump's water flow, you will have to make sure your system is larger enough to handle the water flow and change the motor, impeller, and diffuser of the pump to all match along with the pump seals. All parts are listed on the Pentair SuperFlo Pump Parts Diagram.

Pump motor went out. Needed replacement

Written on 5/23/2020 by Guest

Took pictures of my pump housing and sent to inyopools to identify proper motor model for pump housing. Received motor. Had questions about wiring and called Inyopools customer service and they walked me through proper wiring. Viewed DIY Video on Inyo site on replacing this motor. Was lot easier than I thought. Definitely would do it again.

Motor was wronging hot

Written on 5/19/2020 by Guest

Purchased 2 of these 2HP motors, each dedicated, one for spa spillway, and the other for the waterfall. This Sunday my pool technician opened the pool, and asked him to installed these new motors on my existing Waterway SVL56 pumps, one was dead and I decided to replace both.

After he got them installed with new shaft seals and replaced pump o-rings, one of the two motors started running hot right off the get go, while the other was fine. My pool technician who has 30+ years of experience rechecked the wire and pump internals on that one, found nothing wrong and motor was running very hot and after 20-30 minutes it would shut itself off and be extremely hot.

With pump intervals confirmed to be fine, I looked at the power feed and breaker. Read the voltages, 124.6V out of each leg and combined 247v from the wire ends connecting to the pump while running and also when wires were but connected. Read the same voltage at the breaker and the amp reading matched the label as well.

Basically tried everything one could try and at the end have no doubt one if the motors is defective. Took it apart again, took pictures of the motor mouth with impeller out to upload along with pictures of the labels, required by INYO pools to start the warranty replacement process. Hope they can rush the replacement motor to me in time for the weekend. Wish this wasn’t the case, cause the other motor is running perfectly and these are quiet pumps in general.
