Tagelus multiport valves before 1993 did not have an air bleeder valve and had to self-purge the air through the return lines. If your valve is 1993 or after, there is an air bleeder valve towards the bottom of the valve next to the lower port - about the size of a quarter. Turn knob counter-clockwise to release air.

You will need to look at the Tagelus Valve Options at the Top of This Page. First you will need to determine if your valve is clamp on or screw on, if it is clamp on then your choice would be this valve. If you have a screw on valve you would then need to determine if your filter is from prior to Nov. 1991 or after Nov. 1991. You can also determine this based on if you have V Threads on the Valve or Buttress Threads on the valve.

Have a Tagelus TA60D with 6 way valve P/N 272523 on top, clamp on style. On "filter" setting it leaks out of the backwash pipe. I would like to repair the 6 way valve but cannot find parts. If it cannot be repaired, then which is the correct replacement valve? I took the top part of the valve off...it has a "spider" gasket on it that is damaged. Bottom of valve has a "pole/extensioin" in center that appears to have broken off about one inch up. What parts OR valve will replace repair this one?

Is there a total rebuild kit for this. What are the parts that would be needed. Mine is SEVERAL years old and leaks from several points. The lever is hard to turn and does not change the flow properly. I hate to replace the entire unit if it can be rebuilt

Hi John, The only parts that will not be included with this valve are the valve adapter o-ring (154493) and the sight glass w/ vacuum protector (272550) . So you should be all set with the 262506 valve, thanks so much for your continued business.

We have a 26" metor pac fab sandfilter. Part# is 58930100 S/N 9873380. It has a metal clamp (not the plastic one) shown on this image. Pentair is saying we need part number 262506. This was in the house we purchased in 07', so we have no idea how old it is. Should this work? Can we return it if it doesn't fit? Thanks

Hi Lori, If you've talked to Pentair and provided them with this same info and they said that p/n will then it will. I'm not finding a " Metor Sand filter. If you can provide the model number of the valve we can confirm which valve you need. You can return the valve if it's in new or unused condition.

Hi, The 1-1/2" Top Mt. Clamp Style Valve (261186) is the correct valve for the Aqua Tool AT Series Sand filter except for the AT3130 which uses the TM-22-L.

Hello Elias, This is the correct part 1 1/2" Top Mount Valve Flanged (262506) for you if your area around your backwash valve is leaking, please check around unit to check for other cracking/leaks. If you are replacing this whole unit which is what I would recommend our part# 4600-2506, other ALTERNATE PART #'S 262506, 272526, PAC06248, 262506.

Hi, Edward. It sounds like you have a bad diverter gasket. To resolve this is you can choose one of these three options. 1) Replace the Valve Diverter w/ Gasket - 272512, 2) Replace the Valve Top Assy - 272531, or 3) Replace the complete 1 1/2" Top Mount Valve Flanged - 262506.

Have a TA60D clamp filter & need to replace multiport. Filter model #145241 & 2005 filter with the first 4 numbers in serial # being 0105. Is this correct multiport for that model.
What also all comes w/ valve? Does it comes with gauge, sight glass, O-Ring that goes on the bottom of valve? Are all of those assembly items included? (and/or more?)
What type of sight glass is included w/ this valve? They have vacuum valves with that black rubber gasket (which I'd want) & non-vac styles.

Bill, This would be the correct valve. The valve comes with a pressure gauge, sight glass and plastic clamp assembly. The sight glass that comes with the valve is a standard one.

Hi, Mick. This Top Mount Valve - 262506 will not replace the WC112-147/148. The WC112-147/148 valve uses the Union Coupling Package - C198-5 and the 262506 valve uses the Union - 400-5640.

Hi Keith, the part # you supplied is the part # for the label and that label is used on quite a few of the Pentair valves. If you have the Tagelus you will first need to determine if you have 1.5" plumbing or 2" plumbing going into the valve, once you determine this then you will need to determine if you have a screw on valve or a clamp on valve. Once you determine this then you can select your appropriate valve here on the Tagelus Parts Page by looking at the valves at the top of page.

I have this model, 262506, multi port valve and the pressure gauge needle is at 45 psi when the pump is off. Tapping the gauge does not move the needle. It jumps to 55 when I turn it on briefly to filter. Do I need to replace the entire unit or just the gauge? The unit is only two years old.

Hi, Bryan. If air is getting into the line when the pump is off, then you should replace the Top Valve Assembly - 272531 or when the pump is running, the issue is on the suction side. Check out our How to Identify and Correct Air Leaks guide for more info.

I have this valve and the outlet was plumbed with a threaded male 1.5" connector to 2" pvc. The connector broke off right at the outlet of the valve such that there isn't enough material to be able to un-thread the connector. I see that outlet is also outside threaded for a half union. What part do I need to connect a half union to the valve going to 2" PVC on the outlet?

Would recommend using 1-1/2" x 2" threaded adapter part # 89-402-1126. This will thread onto the 1-1/2" mpt of the valve & leave a 2" mpt connection that you can easily thread a standard 2" union on to.

The outside threaded MPT on the valve is 2" so it doesn't seem that this would be the right part. The inside threading of the valve is 1.5" which is where the 1.5" MPT connector broke off.

Hi Kelly, For the Sta-Rite Waterford T210WF sand filter you will require the Pentair 261186 Replacement Valve most likely you had the WC112-148 valve which was discontinued and replaced by the 261186 valve. In this scenario where you are replacing a WC112-148 valve then you will have some minor replumbing as the plumbing port locations on the new valve are not in the same spot as the old valve.

I have a Pentair 272526 valve. When I put the bleeder back in and turn the filter on water came rushing out of the intake hole where the bleeder is inserted. Do I need a bleeder or o ring? Thank you any help would be appreciated.
To be on the safe side we would suggest the Air Bleeder w/ O-Ring in this kit you get both the bleeder and o-ring. Either could be the culprit and it really hard to determine which one it is.

My Sand Dollar Top Mount's (rear mount) pressure gauge is registering 23 lbs while running. I backflushed and rinsed. The water flow is good in and out and the the pump is staying primed. I did notice the gauge only goes down to 8 lbs when the power is completely off. Shouldn't it go to zero and does this tell me my gauge is bad. Thank You !

That would be an indication the gauge has dies and would need to be replaced. We do stock the replacement gauge part number 190059

Yes, the Top Mount Valve 6 Pos 1-1/2" Flanged - 262506 is the replacement part for the old 272526. As for the model number of the filter you provided that number does not cross-reference to anything in our system.

I have mulitport valve P/N 262506. This is my 2nd valve in less than a year. Actually it is my 3rd. I bought the sand filter 2 years ago that came with this valve. The valve leaked at the intake but the filter was damaged as well and got a new filter. That valve also leaked at the intake. Anyway, 3rd valve now and plumbed in as instructed. One layer of thread tape on the 1.5 threaded male coupling. It leaks. What gives? I fear another half turn will crack it.

Hi, Franklin. You do not have to do another half turn, a quarter turn could do the trick. if not, you may want to check the water pressure or flow, it could be more than the unit can handle.

We would suggest the TM-12-L Valve as the suitable replacement valve for your filter. The original valve used on the T240BP1 is no longer available so you will have a little re-plumbing.

I have a Tangelus TA60/60D sand filter. It started leaking around the pressure gauge. I then put sealant around the fitting of the gauge and then the gauge filled with water and started leaking out the front. I then replaced the gauge and the new one also filled with water, and it is still leaking around the port where the guage screws in. How can I fix this?

You will need to open the valve to inspect the top end parts & to see if you have a hairline crack in the gauge port. We are curious as to whether the vale leaks at the gauge in every position the valve handle is in.

The spider gasket for this multiport is not available on an individual basis. The spider gasket is manufacturer installed on the diverter face. The Replacement Top Valve Assembly For Pentair™ 272531 - PL0748 (easiest repair process) or the Replacement Valve Diverter w/ Spider Gasket for Pentair™ - PL0742 are repair options.
