Is this a direct drop in replacement for the Hayward RS1000?
The Super II Pump 1 1/2 HP Single Speed - SP3010X15AZ is comparable in total horsepower to the RS1000. The main difference is the intake and discharge ports, the RS1000 offers threaded 1.5" inside and 2" outside. The SP3010X15AZ has 2" threads on the inside of the intake and discharge and measures a little over 25"' in length. Please refer to our How To Replace a Pool Pump for detailed instructions.
Just got your response from Alan M. But do I need a SALT version of the Tune Up Kit or are they all the same?
The saltwater shaft seal is going to be the only difference in that kit, which is a heavy duty, less corrosive shaft seal than the regular shaft seal. If you have a saltwater pool you should definitely get the saltwater kit, if it's chlorine you'll be fine with the regular kit.
Went to turn pump back on after being off for a few hours. It sounded funny and then saw smoke from the motor. Quickly turned it off. Its SP3010X15AZ Hayward SUper II for an inground fiberglass Salt pool. Before I call a Pool Service nearby (Rome GA), just wondered...is it possibly just the motor, or the whole pump ?? I've been looking online for this item number and see pumps and motor, or both as a package??
Hello Dan, sounds like the motor fried. You can replace just the motor with the Century 1.5 HP Round Flange Up Rate Motor (C48L2N134) Formerly A.O. Smith - UST1152. I would also recommend replacing the seals when ever you change the motor with the Tune Up Kit Hayward Super II - GOKIT2.
Need a SP 3010x 15az Hayward Super II Pump - but not the electric motor. Do you sell just the pump ?
Can the pump be disassembled to check if something is lodged in the motor.
Recently, replaced capacitor pump started fine then stoped.
Hi Dennis, Yes the pump can be disassembled we have a great How to Guide and Video showing how to replace a pool motor and this goes into the disassembly of the pump. I think you will find this helpful.

had to cut my old system free because when the installed it they didn't put any couplings. This was the hardest part of the install. Removed the old system and reconnect everythings exactly as I had removed it from the old system. No problems at all.
(5 out of 5 stars) Great product. Even better service.

Needed to replace pump. Ordered other product which would have required long delay. Personal phone call from vendor, extended conversation about issues and needs, exceptional response. Result? More than satisfied with replacement.
(5 out of 5 stars) Got the facts

Pros: Price and shipping time also the info givin before I bought
Cons: None yet
I was useing a 2.5 horse pump for years in my in groundpool and after reading the how to size for a pump I found I was grossly over powered due to the fact I have 1 1/2 inlet line which can not handle the flow I would need to run a 2.5 pump. Every place else would of sold me the wrong pump for my pool at a higher price to boot.If your on the fence about buying here just do it.they shipped fast and the price was the best I could do also their help section was right on saved me a few hundren bucks.yeah I know this all sound to good but. No I don't hold stock in this company. But I would if I could.
